View Full Version : Registrations

We have had a lot of new registrations here lately of people new to what we do and some people that have been around the block a few times... A Hearty Welcome to all of you from the good folks at S-B.... :btu:

Unfortunately, someone registered earlier today just to take shots at someone else. This rarely happens here and we're going to keep it that way. We have too many good things going on here to need some jerkwipe to sign up just to take shots on somebody - it may be kosher to do that on some other boards, but it isn't cool here...

I wonder if whoever registered this morning to take a shot at someone else, and you know who you are, has cajonnes to step forward and say so. I doubt it....

I don't want to setup the more stringent options for registering but I may need to turn that on for a while because of a yahoo or two like the guy from this morning.... Very juvenille stufff.....

So Shut up & FISH!!!! :p

Well said. I stay with S-B specifically because of the caliber of people here. Jerks need not apply.

Thanks guys :btu: ...

And I just want to add that we don't want to deter anyone from coming here or to stop all of you lurkers from eventually saying hello ;) :D . I just don't want to see people with an attitude or an ill found axe to grind to bring it on here...

That's all...

Now speaking of new members, anyone know if Tattoo is a daddy yet?

John you do what you have to do ---------this is a great site because of that/////////////
when I first found this site I didn,t know what to expect
I was personally going thru some difficult times and s/b turned out to be a blessing/////
there isn,t a member on this site that I have met in person that I havn,t enjoyed/////////////
WE are all different but we accept each other for who we are ,are beliefs, our color ,our income , were and how we live, and even the way or style of fishing we perfer doesn,t matter////////////////////
I,ve had a great time with you all and things won,t change
Everytime i,ve had the pleasure of fishing with members of this board I,ve had a great time and the quality of fishing doesn,t count compared to the quality of our member

Have some Laughs & E N J O Y !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MS7512 - yer a goon :p (often known as a googan on the sw boards :p ). Just kidding....

Seriously, had nothing to do with you. Just a buttwipe that chose to register purely to take shots at someone else here. Probably someone suffering from a near terminal case of "Lack-O-Balls" that couldn't show their displeasure under their regular name so they had to hide behind another....

Saltheart - how about real people that fish (not that I've been following that as of late )? Yours sounds like an add for the brownies :laughs:

How does tomorrow night sound to swing by??

RAVEN JUST SAYIN HELLO
TO THE S-B GANG so as not to be such a "lurker" in the shadows.
Lack o balls thats funny John real funny so do ya call that a
lob shot hahahahaha you made me laugh this mornin!!
and the way things are goin for me lately i sure as heck needed it
so thanks a million... and now i'm inspired to go fishing.
but of course you can tracem with neo trace (free) and obtain
an ip addy and then the isp as well right? but of course you know
that  tight lines to all.... Rav

Hey Raven - glad you enjoyed...

Yeh, I did some looking into it but I'm not wasting too much time. The person either has the nuts to step forward or doesn't.

The person is also SO afraid or paranoid of getting caught, they appear to be using a for pay, anonymous surfing service, so they can HIDE and take shots at people. Not a simple bogus registering of e-mail and a net-zero account. The wussification is complete...

Pissing contests should be done outback behind the barn, not in public please :). I've made some good friends on this board and it's the first place I hit after going online, which hasn't been much lately unfortunately.

Some of these guys will stand in the dark casting into rain driven by a 30 knot wind for 3 to 4 hours (know any?) Tough people but still "nice people who like to fish"! :)

Ok Saltheart - I'll grant you that. I remember numerous days like that, one where you got a nice fish at my mass spot and just last week when I was there, 7 hours of snot dripping off my nose

Good one Jenn, you should also mention the prospects of getting a hook stuck in ya ...

Ummm... I'm new here and I'd just like to say I must be hooked already because that sounds like a good time to me! ;)

Seriously... I've only been here a couple days and appreciate the feedback I've gotten. There are a lot of boards on the web, some of which I have built/maintain/mod, that can go either way, good/bad.

I'm glad to see I have found a good one here!

Thanks again.

Rob

Two replies to posts in one day, hope this doesn't take away my lurker status? Just wanted to respond that I'm glad you're taking a strong stance on people's adverse uses of this website. This place is not only a well organized, interesting and fun learning and sharing environment about this big topic called "fishing", but one that is totally devoid of stress of any kind. Think about it. There's not many other places on earth where that's true anymore, and that's one big reason why I'm logged on all day long during my workday. Keep the Riff-Raff out.

Jimbo & MtnBrz1, thanks for the kind words :btu: . A lot of work goes into making this site sing and most of that is done by the regulars here. I hear from a lot of people that this is the most relaxed fishing site in the Northeast and that people like it just the way it is... Thanks!

I have known JohnR, for as very long time, we consider him a great friend, fisherman, and just all around great guy, who works very hard on this site to keep it the way it is.

All you other #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&s out there lurking and trying to cause trouble on this site should be very careful. JohnR has many friends. And no I am not talking about the non trouble making lurkers and posters.

I have met many of the people who post on this site, they are alot of fun, we have had alot of laughs and time on the water together, not as much as we would have liked this year ( I WANT TO GO TO CUTTYHUNK!!!) and it's because John worked so hard to put this site together. Otherwise none of us would have met, had gettogethers, met at meetings, met even on the water for that matter. Or even a place to post our tragedy's and vent when we have a bad day. which has given everyone a place for prayer's and well being for the other person.

Keep up the good work John, Idiot's just aren't worth it!!!!

One of my favorite lines:
Never argue with an idiot. They'll just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience! ;)

Hope to meet up w/ some of ya' at some point. For now... got some readin' to do!

You are better off buying an instructional book, like Daignault’s Striper Surf or Woolner & Lyman's Striped Bass Fishing, than anything else.
Joe, Thanks for the advice!

Rob
