today.....married. Man, time flies. Things used to be so simple and its amazing how life get so complicated. house, 2 kids, work.... I can't complain about the first 10, I hope I'm lucky enough to have another 10 more. She puts up with a lot as all fisherman's wifes do. I was goign to push it when I saw the Cutty trip, but as flexibile as she is, there was no way in hell she'd let me go away the weekend of our 10th anniversary. No fishing for me this week, getting away for a few days alone, something we have not done in 5 years.

Congrats and enjoy the alone time with the wife! I just had my 6th a couple of weeks ago. I definitely don't regret getting married, but I do regret getting married during fishing season. I miss good fishing time every year for our anniversary. At the time I probably just said "sure whatever date works for you, honey" without thinking about the consequences for me. I have a small son who isn't old enough to fish with dad yet, so I have very few chances to get out now. I have to hope for good weather on the few days I can fish.

congrats man... you've handled 10 already, a milestone to say the least. God willing and with little doubt, you'll be able to eat the next 10. Life is a marathon, make good pace, acknowledge mile markers, adjust tecniques accordingly and you will live on and live long.

Wouldn't you have been paroled by now?:laughs:
You know the old saying "Marriage isn't a word, it's a sentence."

Congratulations to all you guys, great milestones.:btu:

It will be 46 years for me next month.

All in all the very best of years,
but you have to be willing to REALLY WORK OUT your problems.

Give more than you take or ask for, and you will end a happy man, able to fish or do anything you like,
within reason, just about anytime. :hihi:
