Was looking for suggestions for a rod to go with a Penn 9500 spinning reel. It will be used mostly for throwing plugs to SBFT. Also, has anyone ever used a spinning outfit to successfully jig for tuna?

Tuna Burner 09-16-2007, 08:43 PM I have casted of the bow with a spinning rod for tuna it's one hell of a fight what you need is a penn 950 some guys use mono I use braided dacron guys like the mono for the stretch in the line but if you have your drag set right dacron will work just fine and the good thing is that you can pack the line on the reel as far as a rod look at CMS in New Bedford they build a nice custom rod 6.5ft is the best size to use ThomCat 09-17-2007, 06:42 AM :bl:How bout a cue stick!?!?!?:jester: vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
