Well, I'm going after the albies tomorrow and I have a question.
I used 10lb vanish flourocarbon last friday as my leader and went 4/5 on them. I don't have anymore and I was wondering do you think flouro makes a big difference? My main line is that red cajun line stuff 15 lb test. I found some clear 10lb mono and tied that on as my leader. Do you think that will work just as well, or should I just get more flouro?
Is anyone a big believer in the stuff?

Mono should be fine, 12 lb works, fluoro is better (stronger knots/abrasion resistance), that red line is a joke (red "disappears" under water because it turns black a few feet down as the red light is filtered out). Viewed from below againt the light of the sky, black is the most visible color. Don't think crashing Albies care much, however.

believe it or not , some people go to braids for leaders for them. The braid is not invisible color but 20 pound braid is so this you can barely see it.
personally , i would use mono.

I use 10# braid as my line and 20# floro leader...no swivel, (double uni) and a noslip loop knot to the lure.
The reason I use 20# floro is these fish tend to change direction a lot and the leader rubs against their body and some times gets hit or tangled in their tail which is quite hard. I have even laso-ed a few by the tail and reeled them in backwards.
Got two more off the beach yesterday. They kick butt on light gear and give the drag a real work out. Great fish, just wish they tasted better and grew to 100#
