I have searched the archives but cannot find mention of a kid friendly charter that has a special family trip as part of their lineup. I know there is one as I had followed some advice given someone else regarding kid friendly charters, and of course forgot to bookmark it. Anyone know of it, or if not a kid friendly charter that does 2-3 hour inshore charters? Thanks.

where are you located, first of all?

Tim - you're out of Boston, right? Ave Maria / Black Hull Charters and Bill & Jules are all out of Boston, sponsors here, and have large boats good for a family trip http://www.striped-bass.com/fishing/s-b-sponsors.html

Sorry forgot that little detail...I am in MA.

This particular boat had a charter specifically for kids and ran only a couple of hours (~$175). I don't think my daughters will last for much longer but they have been bugging me to go fishing. I took them on shore, they caught nothing and still had fun. Tough for them to cast more than a few yards.

One thing to keep in mind when you're talking to potential charter boats, most boat do not carry child size type I PFDs. A type I PFD is required for each person on a charter.

I'm pretty sure you mentioned that you do, right Mike?

I know Ron @ BlackHullCharters does carry specifically child size PFDs

John,
No actually I don't. I do like to do kids charters, but as of the moment I don't carry any type I PFDs in kids sizes. Last charter I had with kids they brought their own.

I carry,
4 (orange) cat 1 kids size jackets and
4 cat 1 automatic (hydrostatic inflating) kids vests.
The automatic PFDs (kid is wearing in pic) are much more comfortable for the kids to wear!
