How late (dates) do you think you will fish this year ? roym 10-07-2007, 08:00 AM Bait is extremely plentiful but surface plugging has been very slow in October so far. Appears the surface bite will pick up very soon and hopefully continue through Thanksgiving. Christian 10-07-2007, 08:19 AM i have caught more 20+ pound fish this october (boat) than ever before. its only been a week. so i think is going to be pretty good as long as we don't get a huge storm. i will have big fish here until like halloween i think. ilovetwofish 10-07-2007, 08:24 AM The bass bite is next to nothing for me a few schoolies. All though I havent been hitting the big bass areas at the right time I only get about 12 miles to the gallon in my truck so I'm staying close to home.Still to early to rate October. shadow 10-07-2007, 08:34 AM very early to say yet the last 2weeks or so has been very slow, this can change at any time,I think the first good push of fish moved throu R.I. allready and waiting for another push. Flaptail 10-07-2007, 08:36 AM How the F#ck can you rate the month when it only just started, why don't we rate 2008 while were at it?:smash: fcap60 10-07-2007, 08:58 AM Sorry Flap, I thought OCTOBER was behind us, but thanks for your creative input. Raven 10-07-2007, 09:05 AM is all it is... here comes a week of rain that'll change everything Vogt 10-07-2007, 01:14 PM So far October has sucked for me. I had a great blast of large in mid September, and next to nothing since. I think this will be a late one. I know I'll be fishing into the second week of December, as I ussually do. flyben24 10-07-2007, 01:39 PM so far so good..... late september through now iv caught at least 50 fish.... all 20-25#... along with monster blues, and my first bonito... this derby has been one to remember:hee::hee::btu: piemma 10-07-2007, 02:45 PM The upper bay has sucked. September and so far October. Blues are everywhere and easy to catch. Big too. 12# plus all day yesterday. bass have been few and far between. last good bass was 2 weeks ago. The Dad Fisherman 10-07-2007, 09:40 PM Had an OK night friday...picked up a couple of 20 lb'ers but thats been it so far this month.......but plenty more October to go. GonnaCatchABig1 10-08-2007, 02:07 AM Had an OK night friday...picked up a couple of 20 lb'ers but thats been it so far this month........ :bshake: i would kill for a 20# right now. hell i'd kill for another 20". i can't get a bass to bite for the life of me. i have become the ultimate dog catcher though. Just depends what way they go when they start heading south. October has been good, but not like Aug. and September. Crazy how warm its been. Luds and I got a surprise visit from some skinny dippers last night - you don't expect that in October. This weekend will probably be my last really hard weekend up here. Not because there still won't be fish available - but because I pushed really hard in Aug and Sept and I'm ready - and the wife is certainly ready. I'll still get out, but the weeknight all nighters and beating myself up will probably end. I'll be out on BI for the new moon in Nov. and probably make a RI trip or two after that. GonnaCatchABig1 10-08-2007, 08:48 AM ok.. i think i finally figured it out thanks to this thread.. this fish don't hate my buddy and i. we are just ass backwards. i remember every one bitchin and moaning about how slow late june and into july were. mean while my buddy and i were catching 20+ fish a day. nothing special... but still tons of fish. then people start saying august and september were great.. and him and i catch nothing. literally. we also caught fish in the most unattractive of fishing spots in the most unattractive conditions. (mid day, no cover 95 degrees.) sooooo.. hope no one else catches any fish so we will start catching em.. lol. sorry guys. but if it's between you and me catching the fish. i choose me. :bo:you guys can have a great november. our shop closes in two weeks. so we are running out of time. jim sylvester 10-08-2007, 01:12 PM Jim - this NE wind will probably start pushing the fish N or boston your way, it certainly did last year. Ya just another 40lber that got away. Back Beach 10-08-2007, 02:21 PM I think the first slug of fish moved through already.... I agree. I'm waiting for the next push which could be any day now or not at all. With the new moon this week it wouldn't surprise me if it kicks up the next couple of days though. Actually, the full in September served up some real nice fish in good numbers so who knows WTF moon they will show on.:conf: JoeP 10-08-2007, 02:52 PM So far this October has been as bad as last October for me - while October of 2005 was great. Hopefully things will change with this week of unsettled weather and the new moon. Plus my grass needs the friggin' rain! hq2 10-09-2007, 11:35 AM Fished North River on Sunday in a north wind with decent sized waves. Nice outgoing tide too. Threw herring, clams, worms, plugs, even a live-lined cunner, nada. The big ought; not even a nibble! What gives? BW from AZ 10-09-2007, 12:32 PM Oct 15 is the last time ill get to fish salt this year. I get 2 full days in Hull. This year seems to either be boom or bust for a lot of guys. I busted so far. Planning next years spring trip now. It will be a great year. bassballer 10-09-2007, 12:58 PM Latley just been alot of shorts for me.
