So, now that the weather is starting to finally cool off, finally! It's mid-October and I am hearing some guys calling it a season... Now? They haven't even tasted the best of the fall yet.

Who's still out hitting the suds hard? How was the season in general for most of ya'll North of RI (heard it was peaks & valleys) and are the fish finally moving off of ME, NH & MA? I heard no - they are still there in force! Can this be?

Let's hear it....

As always, I'll fish right up to Thanksgiving. I haven't really had a wet, cold, miserable night yet and I'm looking forward to it...

Fish are still holding in MA, it would be a HUGE mistake to put it all away now, IMHO...

Oh well, more for us who stay with it to the end. We had blitzes in January on the south shore beaches this year...note: this year not last year :spin::hf1:

Most, if not all, of my usual haunts were slow this fall. Ran into a pile of large fish (25-35# stuff) about one week ago in a place I haven't fished in 10 years and still on them. Prior to that, got a couple of single large fish (31# and 42#) between Labor Day and last week about this time, along with 5 or 6 skunkings. I would say if you are finding little success so far this fall to make some moves and cover some different spots. Don’t wait for them to show in your favorite place because it frequently doesn't happen like you hope it will. Just because there are fish north of us doesn't guarantee they will pass by here.
As much as people think its just beginning now, it’s really getting towards the end for Mass/RI. Small fish will be around until December in numbers, but for big numbers of large, I would say by early/mid November it’s mostly over in Mass/RI. Weather looks like its going to cooperate, so hit it hard for the next 2-3 weeks guys.

I messed up my right arm otherwise I'd be out this week, even with my freakish travel schedule.

Hope to be able to tape things up and get out this weekend.

Can anybody cast for me?

You're kidding, right? Best fall in years. And the latest up here. Only thing I haven't had is big surf conditions. Doing majority from shore, but will be on boat this weekend. Want to find some pogies..... Early AM bite is good, tides better this week for those who have to work too.... Just trying to figure out what to do as docks and launch are gone after 10/28, and there will still be fish around I think.

Spence, come on up. No need to cast, you can just flip from shore! Seriously.

This is deffinately my best fall yet. I havent had any epic nights, but the numbers in my log book dont lie. I think I would rather have the consistant fishing for most of the fall, rather than just a couple explosive nights.

But one or two explosive nights wouldnt be bad...:eyes:

Spence - in the same boat with very sore shoulder - hurts to cast quickly :crying:

I think there are a lot of fish north & east of Rhody for example and they are moving and will continue to move. How good it goes depends on how many bad blows we get - we'll get 'em, just how many is key - and pushes the fish off shore. There is also no guarantee that the big pushes of large fish will even go by particular coastlines as they may make an end run WAY out past the Islands...

Having said all that, weather permitting, there is still some really good fall left...

Hey listen, you're preaching to the choir...that's why I am scratching my head when these talks :chatter take place. I am like the water temps are in 60's and we are still in shorts & T's...give it a chance and see what kinda hell is gonna break loose when some serious cold fronts push through.

But I think it's "over" too :wid::rotf2::rotflmao:
