View Full Version : Lousy news
piemma 10-18-2007, 08:12 PM Got a call tonight that Tom Meade, the outdoor writer for the Journal, had a stroke. Also Steve McKenna got rushed into the hospital with a blood clot in his leg.
Jesus, after the Hab news I thought we were done for awhile.
ilovetwofish 10-18-2007, 08:26 PM hopefully everything is ok.
piemma 10-18-2007, 08:29 PM I understand that Tom will recover. Steve is still not out of the woods. The docs need to get rid of the blood clot without spreading throughout his body. I think I was told it will take a few days. Don't think Mr. Van Staal will be in the surf again this year.
eelman 10-18-2007, 08:31 PM I visited with Steve at the hospital for quite some time tonight, he is scared but fortunate they found the thing, They will spend the next couple days trying break it up with drugs and then go in with a cathedr
and try to bust it out...He is very lucky, had it not been found the outcome would have been devistating, he has had a numb foot for over a week now and thought it was just a pinched nerve, luckily the doctor that saw him today admited him to the hospital right away..Anyway thats what is going on, I am sure all your thoughts and prayers are with him, I plan on checking on him daily, as you know Steve and I are good friends and I plan on being there for him...just to much bad news floating around lately...But I think this one will turn out ok!
JohnR 10-18-2007, 08:33 PM Leave the nurses alone Steve (yeh right)... Do what the docs say and you'll be back in the swing soon - Best wishes :btu:
piemma 10-18-2007, 08:37 PM probably should send him a cake in the shape of a VS 200...
JohnR 10-18-2007, 08:52 PM probably should send him a cake in the shape of a VS 200...

and it has a wobble wiggler machine inside that tries
to shake you off like a texas bullride aparatus...

and ride the sluggo and git thrown off hahahhaha :rotfl:

ThomCat 10-20-2007, 02:18 PM Just got back from a visit with Steve at the hospital. Looks like a few more tests and a few more days in sick bay to try to find the source of the problem. He's in good spirits however, and he's still a funny bastitch.:D Looks like a few cow bass can rest a bit easier for a while. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the nursing staff.:lm:
