Weather was deteriorating and it was getting cold with the wind blowing about 30 early this morning, the fish were still close enough to reach. I ended up with only two fish, both keepers. One fish was 29" and then my personal best for the year (so far) took my eel and gave me a memorable battle. The fish was healthy and fat. Happy to be warm and dry now.

Good job; I got dunked early last night and had to retire early. Mike and I knew there were fish somewhere, but I was too wet and cold to search for them...

No scale available, my best guess was 30 -35 pounds. I wish my 52" fish had been built like her.

thanks to all for the kudos

Excellent fish, redcrbbr!

Why not use the formula for weight when you already know the length and the girth? The good folks at OTW use the following formula to determine the weight for their C&R pounder pins:

girth x girth x length/800 = pounds

Sooooo, for your beauty:

23 x 23 x 43/800 = 28.433 lbs!!!

Nice PB, and keep up the good work it's still early, gents!!
