They must spawn multiple times per year... 'cause in the late Fall I see both the 2- 3 inch size, as well as the 5- 9 inch variety... Different artificials to imitate both obviously! Bernzy Peanuts & Bernsters for the former... more like BM or RM Dannys for the latter! :uhuh: numbskull 11-18-2007, 05:50 PM I have actually had some success at night throwing big danny plugs when peanut bunker are around. I think the presence of bunker might trigger a general feeding instinct that covers bunker of all sizes. Anyone else notice this? bart 11-18-2007, 09:10 PM yup, i do well with big 3oz dannys when they're on peanuts... tattoobob 11-18-2007, 09:22 PM Any shinny tin also works well cow tamer 11-19-2007, 11:07 AM Back to my original question please, Does anyone know if peanut bunker are juvenile menhaden or some other fish species? NIGHT STRIKES 11-19-2007, 11:11 AM Back to my original question please, Does anyone know if peanut bunker are juvenile menhaden or some other fish species? yes, juvenile menhaden... The peanut bunker run is just starting down here in Jersey on the beach and our backbays are still holding loads of them still at this point.. Any reports of them still up around your area ? Exellent point George, Unlike most, I do not try and match the hatch.... My theory is, that why the hell does a bass (blues dont count) want to eat a hunk of wood, that resembles a smorgass board that is alive with scent ... but on the otherhand, a bigger, more calorie rich offering trying to sneak slowly by, just might trigger the gluttony in a bass that most of us have witnessed, you know like, lets stop working for the meal and get the feeding over with kind of response.... throwing the biggest plug in my bag has made me smile more than one night when guys trying to match the sand eels or peanuts the bass were feeding on only aggrivated the calcium deposits in their shoulders....the opposite is true as well... I've scored on some tiny offerings when the bass were knocking adult pogies out of the water.....I call it the snack theory. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
