Whats the most expensive item you broke or lost this season while fishing?
So far i've lost an iPhone with no insurance available, broke 1 surefire flashlight and lost another one on a different set of rocks.
I've heard stories of some VS pliers being found on a beach so it got me thinking about what others have lost while fishing.

I lost a lot of sleep....

This year Ive broken about everything possible.
Heres the list:3 cell phones, aquaskinz med. bag, Two pairs of waders, 3 pairs of wader boots, 2 reels, 3 rods, 2 pairs of pliers.
The only thing Ive lost is my patients........

I broke my ass [blew out a disk] on beach sand. go figure.

I broke and exhaust manifold on my f-350, going over a big dune at Plum Island

Sunk a phone no insurance,ripped a pair of waders,3 pairs of sunglasses,2 trays of expensive plugs washed of the rocks,another 6 or 7 cheep bluefish plugs swimming around somewere,ran over a brand new rod and reel,pliers,a fillet knife, I think thats it.

dignity, striper hat, perscription sunglasses, small plastic lure box (not empty) all on one canoe trip with a young scout. he still lives.

me.....I'm broke....fished too much, gonna work more next year

....only thing i broke this year was one of my friends hearts. i told him i would take him to MV, mide june, we never got around to it. :o

i had my truck tilting toone side for a few weeks in the summer after i hit a pot hole in the parking lot of south beach mv. my check tire pressure gauge kept comin on but i eventually got used to the port side lean :)

Not expensive, but I lost a brown wading boot somewhere in SoCo, anyone find it.:hee:

lami1201m, batson1088, vs200, 3 pairs wicked tough waders, 2 pairs wading boots, left tide watch on truck-found 1 hr later ran over,

A pair of cheap sun glasses, cheap pliers, and got hit by a 10 foot wave that took out the windshield of my boat. 1 of my 9 lives along with the windshield!!

more than a few pair of expensive sunglasses.....:doh:

2 pairs of waders

Opened tailgate to grab cooler at 5am .Ran in grabbed some bait.Put cooler in cab of truck.Complete freshwater tackle box 3 trays full flew off tailgate somewhere between warwick and NK.Good thing I dont really have the freshwater itch like I have the saltwater one.I shrugged it off.Besides that I've lost some tire tread and gas money.All well worth it.

About $500 worth of lead ;)

Like Mike - the ditch god got a lot of lead and a few pairs of pliers. At least 5 good plugs to blues .. Broke the tip off a Lami ...

Man, now I dont feel so bad, not that I want to or like seeing others here lose stuff, but I thought I was the only one.

Broke 2 things this year: my striper cherry :happy: and my ankle. :bc:

G. Loomis cross current 10 wt. I broke it twice. $50 to get a new one the first time, but I haven't sent it back in again yet.

2 broken tips on my fly rods. 1 was replaced by Sage for $40. handling. The other was my grandfathers and I still need to fiqure out how to fix it. Something on my Jeeps suspension driving some road near Tashmoo. I think that is it.

I took a good fall on rocks and smashed it just right, it's not broken just not operating. I believe its the body that not working properly and im only saying that because the lamp,batteries and tailcap operates fine on a different body which leaves me to rule out the body as being defective.

This season , unable to fish do to need for hip replacement , I lost my mind! :)

first night trip of the season, I dropped a brand new trolling motor battery off the dock..... Mid summer I lost a Dwalt 18 volt cordless off the same dock...

Lost 5 or 6 plugs (1 Habs needle on 9/22 :(), a couple of tins and broke the insert on the top guide of a Lami. Probably would have been a little more if I had got out as much as I would have liked.

My mind................:tm:I'll find it, I just know it.

Not this past year but my biggest equipment loss was a brand new
10' honey blank Lami wrapped by Dave Hammock at Murats. I had it leaning up against the back of my truck and a bunch of the Thundermist Striper Club guys came into Murats. Someone said something about getting coffee and I said I'd make the run.

Not hard to do. Fish 100 nights and lose one jig a night, with the tax---you're almost there.

dislocated shoulder, loss a VS 150 and a 9 ft J Kennedy Fisher after getting swept off a jetty Sept 21 2006. Plug bag I tossed on the rocks and a friend grabbed. Just glad to be here and still fishing

All of my striper mojo this year. :crying:

about a dozen lures. to blues, false albies, and that errant cast you get when the bail closes on you. It's really enjoying to watch a 20.00 plug go hurtling towards the vineyard, and there's nothing you can do about it.

easy way to solve the problem:Remove the bail and put a manual pickup on the reel...

My worst season in the last 3. Started bad, stayed bad, ended bad. Been in analysis mode for the last month. Think I have a handle on it. Looking forward to next spring already!

snapped my Daiwa SealineX 10'er, cut a slice in the front of my hip waders, lost a pair of cheap shades, cheap pliers, filet knife, cheapie measuring tape, a Wally World headlamp, and me pride on an early Sept monstah, that got away...................she still wakes me up in a cold, cold sweat :lasso::lasso:.

Me too, while casting, it sounded like an explosion. The company would not stand behind the warrenty, they said I crushed it. (complete BS)
