i have been going down to a dock right by my house for a couple of nights to fish,a few surface splashes here and there.I can see the bass swiming around in the water and what ever i trow at them doesnt seem to be working, i see them go up to inspect them and maybe bump into it but no biting.anyone have any advice or do you think its just too cold for them to feed

If the water isnt frozen, its not too cold for the fish to feed. The moon has been very bright the last couple of nights, that may be part of the problem. Try a 7.5" sluggo with an oversize worm hook. Another favorite is a 4 inch metal lip swimmer, like the Tatoo 1oz, very slow retrieve will get some hellacious strikes. Another good choice is the Storm Jerkin' Minnow in white, erratic action seems to trigger picky fish

Single hook, light leader and a sea worm. You you be able to pick which one you want to catch.
Hook em in through the pinchers and out the throat.

They might be feeding on something real small. Any hatches this time of year?

Try a pearl Queen Cocahoe on a < 1/2 oz jighead, or even smaller storn style plastics - pink or salt & pepper... I'm assuming Schoolie size, right?
