why hasn't there been one invented yet.

that would be sweet to have a game for PS2, Xbox to play in the winter. you could scout spots in your truck prior to heading out, buy plugs, test plugs, tune plugs, fish night, fish day, keep a log, enter the striper cup, win weekly/ monthy prizes, do it all.

it would be even better if you could hit up tackle shops and try to get info on hot spots. maybe get into some shennagins in the shop. :deer:

if you look really really really hard.. there are some salt water fishing games... but none that were worth a damn. i try and find them when ever the weather is awful or in the winters.. nothing worth even mentioning.

there is a new cabelas (i think) black bass game hitting stores this winter.. those are usually ""DECENT"". but i as a gamer pick apart camera angles and options like crazy. and nothing has really done it for me since the original black bass game on SNES.

i think i might try and throw one together. thanks to the new systems.. i could focus on just one states coast line. then introduce other coasts as down loadable content or something. assuming it ever gets that far. lol. would be a great winter project for me. should be done in like 6 years.. lol.

i really wish there was one though.

IMO the best fishing game would be more of a role playing game and not an action game.

You would be given weather reports, tide info and some basic information from tackle shop owners. Based upon that information you will need to choose a general location to fish, lures to use and if you want to even go out. If you get the right combo of conditions, gear and clothing needed for the conditions the computer will give you how many fish you caught.

You could enter local tackle shop tournaments and get rewarded with better equipment and gear to give you a better chance to catch a bigger fish. At the same time you would build a better relationship with the tackle shop owners and be able to get better intel from thenm.

There will also be a point where your tackle could get stolen or equipment failure because you did not wash off your gear or you did not lock your car up. You will also have lure snapoffs, line breakage so you will need to earn money to replace or repair the equipment and pay for gas.

Eventually you will win a boat which will increase the places to fish but the expenses will increase as well. Maybe the finally will be to win the MV derby or the striper cup. :)

I would play that game for sure!

Virtual spot burning would be cool too. You could piss everyone off, but not really.:smokin:

After that I would release pine boring beetles into everyone's plug bag and run a corner on the eel market. :behead:

there's a lot of experience on this site to create the ultimate northeast striper fishing video game. i like lurch's idea of a more role playing game. i wonder if there's a lot of money in that.
