This is shorter, the main thing I wanted to know was do the baby bunker holdover or migrate.

I believe they are all supposed to go.However,last February,I found a school of them by my local warm water outflow.(powerplant)

They migrate due to cooling waters, but may hang longer at warm-water outflows. If they stay there until the outside water cools too much, they won't leave. Other fish, including juvenile tropicals swept north in early fall by the Gulf Stream, will do the same.

Menhaden are essentially filter feeders, straining microscopic plankton, algae etc... when the water cools, less of this microscopic life exists, and the menhaden leave in search of richer waters. Visibility under water off the RI coast in february can be almost 80 feet, but when the water is warmer and full of life, its usually around 20 to 30....
