I got one for Melissa's Accord last Christmas. I went to one of the specialty shops also since the dealer just sends it there anyway then marks it up. Naturally the Honda required some sort of extra part to allow a remote starter to be used and cost more. I don't know what brand but we have had no trouble with it. It was a few hundred dollars,
this year she got a GPS so now if I can just get her to keep her car clean, she'll be all set :rollem:
Good luck Big K

Yup, skip the trip to the dealer..... Specialty shop will know their product for different makes, as long as it isn't a Mercedes...... (that's a dealer only install, at 1200.00...... sorry. Ain't happening)

Karl I received more back, because of that remote starter I had installed in my wife's car than it ever cost me. Best present ever, by far, no comparison.

Mine came with my car. Awesome. Since my car is not in the garage
it makes it easy to defrost the windows.

Just in case Karl, I don't think that they will do them on standard transmissions.

I have been installing remote starters professionally for about 9 years now and trust me the dealer is the worst place to go for information regarding installing. If you let me know the year, make and model of the vehicle I'll let you know all the info I have on it. Also I can do some research and get you a reputable place out in Hyannis. As for brands I find that audiovox and directed electronics have the best out there and Audiovox is the best bang for the buck. Hope this helps. Oh stay away from chain stores as well they can't provide the same expertise as the little guys can

Hey Karl,
Bought the wife one in 2004, works great if she leaves the heat on before she starts and let's it run for 10 min ...lol

I had one put in the wifes Honda Pilot. If you have a transponder key, they will need a spare one to bury in a box somewhere in the dash. The extra transponder keys are exspensive, but I love the remote starter.
