View Full Version : Stocking stuffers for wife in her 50's
Swimmer 12-20-2007, 07:22 PM This kills me every year. Usually half the stuff I buy my wife, (big gifts) she returns as hard as I try to buy what I truly think she'll want and like. I find buying for the little things one would put in a sticking just as difficult. What do you guys get. And ladies, please throw out some advice here. All the suff in the stocking is usually $5.00, $10.00, or maybe even a little more. I need help. I can't be the only one that goes through this.
Slingah 12-20-2007, 07:47 PM razors, chapstick, nylons, gum, candy bars, nail files, cd's, scotch tape, crossword puzzles, cans of tunafish, paper clips, camera batteries, post its, spare car or house keys, envelopes..

Seriously Frank....stockings are a fun thing in our family. We usually put some useful things in there, some fun/joke items.....magazines are good or a subscription to one.....anything your wife likes or has an interest in that might be a good read? Some funny things are we are always looking for pens here in the house so I will stick a box of pens in there.....how about gift certificates Frank? Get one for her favorite store or restaurant??? Does she have an Ipod??? Maybe one of those Ipod Nanos??? I think they are like $75.00?? Fits nice in a stocking???
midol.......:bl2:
Actually I just get stuff like new christmas ornament (with year). Soy supplement (for menopause), maybe a new cross pen, loufa sponge, etc

Swimmer 12-20-2007, 08:28 PM Thank you everyone. Wife is really kind of picky. Looking for some of your suggestions and maybe some new ones. I appreciate the help. I think the problem is I suck at buying presents. And I'm sick of seeing the ones I do buy go back.

Don't work so hard. Your wife will have lots of fun picking stuff out that SHE wants (shopping is 1/2 the fun for most gals).

Flaptail 12-21-2007, 11:45 AM A note telling her Merry Christmas and that you will be glad to chauffer her around the week after Christmas so that she may pick out and buy anything she wants during all the after Holiday sales on items that cost as much as 75% the day before Christmas.
My wife and I don't exchange anything, we take care of our daughters and some close friends and take care of ourselves whenever we need something whatever time of year.
Saves money and you always get what you want.
Just being together as a family is enough for me.

For the most part, so dont we. I love seeing the look on a happy face/child about a present we bought.
You know the NEBE idea is a good one. She likes different blown glass. We have a few pieces for Hot Flash Annie up in S'east Harbor, Maine. I'll have to stop by Nebes sometime. Maybe the next time Bigfish is heading that way.
Girlfriends pictures. Ummm. After about ten years of marriage I pulled out my wallet to pay for something and my wife spots a pictures that had been there for a number of years prior to our getting together. Needless to say when we got into the truck the picture was torn up. Sad day.
Viagra-----------not yet.
