To all who care about Striped Bass,
Tonight at 7pm the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will hold it's MA Public hearing for the proposed Ammendment 6 to the Striped Bass Management Plan. The hearing is centrally located at the Boston-Dedham Hotel and Conference center, 55 Ariadine road near the junction of Rote 1A & I-95/128. This is the only MA hearing on Ammendment 6.
This hearing is the only opportunity MA anglers will have to express their views on the overall management plan for Striped Bass on the east coast. The recreational public needs to turn out in droves. The issues are very technical and confuse many who do not have the time to learn about them. This does not mean that you should not attend. Your attendance alone gives the representatives from the recreational community the political clout to represent you. Your comments, no matter how basic are invaluable. Please make every effort to attend.
With regard to the official MSBA positions, they will be released later today as we are still working with the RFA (with whom we are affiliated on a national basis) and are polishing off our final document at this time. The MSBA position and comments will be released in the next 12 hours and will be posted to this list.
I will be at the hearing this evening representing the membership of MSBA, please do not let me stand alone.
