I got this rod for a present ( won on Sleeze bay)
45$ 11' 6" it's going the be paired with a 704 greenie, I bid on because I think the blank is a Lami Honey glass ???
Is there a way to tell ? I see no markings and the butt section is wood, wrapped with some small dia. cord up to the reel clamp then from there up is the blank,

It could be a 1363m. I have one in honey from about 1977. I think the previous designation for that stick was Lami-Glass 1165. I had a two piece. Fenwick blanks were similar in color. It was a pretty popular blank. They made them in S Glass also. They were lighter. Hope this helps.

I don't know why anyone would cut a 136 3M or 1165 at the butt and fit it with a wooden handle :confused:

I would guess it's an 8' Lami or Fenwick boat/live bait blank that was mated to a 3-1/2' wooden butt.

I agree about cutting a one piece down. Maybe it had an "accident". My 2 pc 1165 was the first rod I built. (I had a Barracuda and it didn't fit inside):bc: After that got a Wagoneer added a roof rack and just built one piece rods. I added 15" of aluminum pipe to the tip end of the Lami and built a nice Blackfish rod for inshore. Is the butt and blank connected? or there a locking ferrel???

this rod is from Oregon state wraps are not epoxied some type of clear coat the action is Pissa it might weigh abit more but with the 704 greenie and some pencil poppers or Tins

If the second picture is the ferrule where the tip section joins the wooden butt, that looks like a pretty thick blank wall.

OH yea ,Mike I'll bring down to M&D's some weekend, for such a big stick it balances out nice not the lightest set up but it will be just fine for me .

Yup It's a Fen Glass rod and belive it or not it's easier to cast and use for plugging poppers, pencil poppers, needle fish for me I had no fore arm fatigue compared to my lighter stuff It just balances out for me , I also caught 4, keepers I kept the 34" all the others were between 37" / 42" no weight under #20.
