View Full Version : Attention Portly Anglers....
The Dad Fisherman 12-27-2007, 05:47 PM After seeing the New Years Resolution Thread it looks like a lot of us are planning on dropping a pant size (or 2)...anybody want to put a plug where there mouth is (instead of a ring ding)
Here's what I'm thinking, all that want to participate post that you want in on January 1st, post your current weight (and maybe a Pic) and then on the 1st of every month we report how we are doing. contest ends May 1st where we'll post our final weight (and maybe final pic). weight loss will be by percentage....not actual poundage that way the smaller guys will balance out with the...umm...Over achievers :hee:
Entry fee is one wooden Plug, Either store bought or home built. All but 3 plugs go the winner and the 2nd place guy gets the other 3 (he deserves something for his efforts). then you get a new batch of wood to start the new season with.
Might be just the Motivation we need to "Git'er Done"
Let me know if this sounds like an idea....we can iron out the particulars later
first thought=good idea for motivation
second thought=dont want to admit how much I actually weigh!!!:uhoh:
BigFish 12-27-2007, 06:21 PM I am actually "big boned" not really portly....:hihi:....whatever! Yeah I will play Kev!
Adam_777 12-27-2007, 06:56 PM LMFAO.Funny I was thinking exactly what you said minus the whole plug scheme.I'm in on this one.

The Dad Fisherman 12-27-2007, 07:35 PM I had a feeling that might be an issue with the "Fairer" Anglers.
The Dad Fisherman 12-27-2007, 07:36 PM do we hafta wear a speedo in the pic? :err: :hihi:
Just think of the weight loss if everybody "Purged" every day....nah that wouldn't be fair. :D

Adam_777 12-27-2007, 09:43 PM The start pics are gonna be good.Maybe we can have a private/passworded section of the forum for ourselves so we don't have to be in the public eye.Under agreement that the pics never make public status.Just a thought to throw out there. Not that hard to set up for the boss either if it gets the ok.
The Dad Fisherman 12-27-2007, 09:52 PM We can pass on the pics if it bothers people....i'm not talking about pics in our skivvies...I'm talking just standing there in your normal everyday clothes.

HESH2 12-28-2007, 10:00 AM i don't think my weight is the problem, its just that i have to grow about a foot taller.
FishermanTim 12-28-2007, 11:30 AM i don't think my weight is the problem, its just that i have to grow about a foot taller.
Yeah, I'm too short for my weight!! Yeah that's what it is.
Personally, I always get a kick when I tell people how much I actually weigh. I don't look like I weigh as much as I actually do.
Now, I'm not in perfect shape, but for a 46 yr old, I look 10 yrs younger and I try to exercise at least 3 times a week during my lunch break. That doesn't included any fishing excursions.
Although I'm not going to join in, I do wish you all success in this endeavor.
To paraphrase an old Nike commercial line:
"A body at rest tends to stay at rest, while a body in motion tends to stay in motion."
Good luck to all participants!
