View Full Version : "THE" Touchdown!
BigFish 12-30-2007, 12:47 AM On that one touchdown......the Pats took the lead for good, Brady broke the record for passing TD's, Moss broke the TD reception record and the Pats broke the single season scoring record for a team!!! That was one magic pass!!!:buds:
Tagger 12-30-2007, 08:15 AM Best game of the year ,, but hard to watch .. They were hanging off Brady and knocking him down the whole game .. Manning wasn't getting touched 85% of the game .. Is Eli the brother that ain't so good ?? He was lights out last night ,, precision laser arm . He made it look easy . I don't follow the Giants , so I don't know if they were playing way above thier heads last night . They looked a couple of clicks away from a championship team . Congrats Pats on your record breaking season .. saw every game but one .
JohnR 12-30-2007, 09:52 AM I've caught 4 or 5 Giants games this year and I did not once see them play like they came out for the first half of that game.
wrikerjr 12-30-2007, 11:15 AM I watch almost every giants game this year and went to every home game this season and they played as good as they could play.
eli's interception cost them big time and that is typical eli. Him calling TO's at the wrong time and taking way too much time is typical.
When Eli plays well and Burress is healthy they can be an elite team, but they will probably loose their first playoff game.
This game definetly took a lot out of them.
With all that said lets go cowboys.
I think it will be very difficult for the Pat's to be the superbowl champs due to the road they must go through. Guy at work said that 90% of the superbowl champs do not have the best record in the NFL. If they do i would have to say they are without the greatest NFL Team ever.
BigFish 12-30-2007, 11:40 AM The Pats already beat all the teams they will see in the playoffs....except Green Bay! I see no problem as long as they make the tackles and avoid the stupid penalties! They are a machine and a finely tuned machine at that!:musc:

The Giants defensive front 4 is that good. I knew going into the game that Brady would be picking himself up more than he did all season.
Their linebacker play has been sporadic, but they kicked it up a notch. That kid Wilkerson (#59) hasn't played all season, and after last night, I have to wonder why. Torbor (#53) had the game of his life.
The weak link in their D, as you saw last night, is their secondary. You have to wonder why Moss wound up in single coverage by a safety on two straight plays--was that the D called, or did the corner screw up? The corners are mediocre (Madison) and horrible (Webster), and Ross is a rookie.
The Giants' offensive line is also very good, and Jacobs is a stud. Bradshaw was inactive last night. Droughns, the other RB, is a horror show.
Burress is playing on one leg, and Toomer is way past his prime. And Eli is Eli. He throws a lot of picks. Some, like the big one last night, are his fault by trying to force the throw into good coverage. Others are the result of blown routes by his receivers--Shockey being the worst offender. He tends to retreat instead of step up in the pocket under pressure, as Collinsworth pointed out last night, which results in his sacks being big ones in terms of lost yardage.
But the biggest problem with their offense, and the reason they're a medocre instead of a very good team, is their offensive coordinator, Kevin Gilbride--or as we like to call him, Kevin Killdrive. Their backup TE, Boss, had 6 catches including two for TDs in the first half, and became the invisible man in the second half. It seemed to me that his playcalling was more of the "play not to lose" instead of the "go for the kill" variety after the Giants went up 12. The other thing is, you saw at the end of the first half just how good Eli can be in the no-huddle. It seems like he plays better when he has to react and not think. Everyone has been wondering why the Giants don't go no-huddle more often. Eli doesn't waste TOs and get delay of game flags when he just steps up to the line and reacts to what he sees. All of his problems are mental. He has a gun and he can be as accurate as hell with good protection.
Slipknot 12-30-2007, 12:37 PM Mike, your team played well
I was surprised Eli did so well
I am glad we came out on top and hope to see your team again in the SB, good luck
I hope the Pats play better in the playoffs and get it together

Thats funny Slip....the undefeated team needs to get it together!:bl2: I know what you mean though...it just sounds funny!
EarnedStripes44 12-30-2007, 12:44 PM I never thought the pats were going to lose. Not at any moment of the game. Brady does not panic.
Slipknot 12-30-2007, 12:47 PM how many comebacks does that make for Brady and who has the most?
Goose 12-30-2007, 01:03 PM Whether it be Giants, Ravens Eagles they brought everything they had physical and mentally and couldn't finish they all went on to lose their next game, I can't see NYG winning next week, knowone has after playing the pats. If anyone of those teams that could of won it it should have been the ravens with that BS time out. Seems like every team that has had great accomplisments has had some kind of luck, even the 2001 pats had luck on their side when (don't recall the player) but his head was out of bounds and the ball touched his foot killing the play. Being it was the last game of the regular season and the fact they have hyped it up all week long it felt bigger then a playoff game in some way. Can't wait to hear some pat fans find something to bitch about these next two weeks on weei.

I don't know Slip but, is there a cooler person on the planet than Tom Brady ? .. He's patting guys on the butt that are beating the hell out of him . "Hey ... nice hit" ,, I imagine he's saying .. right before he rubs there nose in it .
fishsmith 12-30-2007, 02:41 PM "The" Touchdown! couldn't of been prettier.

The Freak only cost us a 4th round draft pick. :hihi:
I've caught 4 or 5 Giants games this year and I did not once see them play like they came out for the first half of that game.
same could be said about:
The Eagles
The Ravens
The Jets
Even the crapy teams were tougher games for the Pats, because everyone comes to play when they are facing the BEST TEAM IN HISTORY.

The Eagles and Ravens didn't have anything to play for the next week ;)
Slipknot 01-01-2008, 03:48 PM I can watch it over and over
http://youtube.com/watch?v=xnvr6MppcV4
nice
yep I just saw it again a few minutes ago on NFL replay :btu:
Mike P 01-01-2008, 06:33 PM I'd still like to know what happened to the corner who had primary coverage on Moss, as looking at the replay, the safety (Butler) had the deep middle and had to come over and try to pick up a wide open Moss :rollem:
BigFish 01-01-2008, 06:38 PM That sounds like the Giants fan in you Mike!:jester:
