I sold my 20' center console in May, want to move up to something in the 23-25' range.

Spend even more time on the boat

Get a pogie net

T-top for the boat

vs150 for boat use, and get rid of some of the other reels I don't use

bring home some tuna

guess I better get some heavier gear for that too.....

I have had a bad few years with wife health and then Big wave taking out the boat, I have a new to me 23 footer and I plan to spend every spare moment on it!

Finish grad school this summer and maybe even head off to law school in the fall. Enjoy my promotion at work and take more time to enjoy life. Spend much more quality time with my family and friends. And yes, upgrade my boat to a deep v with twins so I can chase Matt around east of Chatham!!!

After reading all the fun some of you guys had this year, I'd be pretty happy with a tuna at some point this year.

I think my goals for this upcoming year are:
1) Take the next step and become proficient at the tuna game.
2) Really get into metal jigging for tuna for those days on the bank when conditions warrant.
3) Try to get on other peoples boats to see how they do it. Learn from others.
4) Get my spread to be as close to perfect as possible in different conditions.

I look at the offshore game as a canvas about to be painted. Right now I have red, blue, and yellow on my palate and want to add few more colors/skills this upcoming season.

1. better at logging days events
2. more cod/haddock fishing
3. learn local waters better
4. #1 and #2 from Keeper's list above

2006 tuna were 40-50 pounders
2007 tuna were 50-65 pounders
2008 tuna ________________(maybe up to 100 pounders).

Bigger bass than 32 lbs would be nice to. Maybe break 40. (I'm not greedy), the 50 will come eventually !!!:uhuh::uhuh: Maybe.....:rollem:

You are lucky. There are a TON of great deals on barely used boats that size.

My main goal will be to focus more on trolling wooden plugs.

Obviously catch large too.

Last year was my first boating season with my 16' Skiff. I basically caught good numbers of schoolies and no keepers. I tried many different techniques but never used live bait other than worms. My goal for the next season is to use live bait, ie: eels and pogies to go for the larger fish. I'm not giving up on the plugs and artificials but I want to expand my horizons. I'd also like to try some new launches on the Cape. Barnstable, Falmouth, and Chatham for sure.

I definitely want to catch a bonito on my nine weight. I've caught many on a spinning rod but none on my fly rod. My first priority though is to spend more time on the water, whether it's fishing or sailing or whatever.

Get out fishing more than 4 times... Get my son (6) catching some schoolies on his own. Install VHF. Basically get more usage than in the past.

Simply fish more...not that lofty :humpty:
