I was interested in trying to fish it from shore this year; looks like it should be a good spot. Can you
get down the road on Stony Point Dike without 4 wheel drive? I'm sure it's a great striper spot; what about fluke and tautog? Any info would be appreciated.

The road out to Stony Point Dike is private property, owned by the Catholic Church. There is a seminary on the property and it is also used as a retreat for terminally ill patients. They allowed a Casting for a Cure assembly there last year. I believe access is completely restricted.

Put a white shirt on backwards and wear a grey sweater over your fishing togs and no one will know your not a priest.
Personally I drove all the way to the end once and not a soul bothered me. It would be nice if some type of public fishing access could be gained before the church sells it off. I don't think the area is as private as one would think. Its just that no one ever goes down there.

You may not have seen anyone, but it is still posted. I was down that way today and drove on a bunch of posted, "private" roads. Nowadays, many people don't even know their neighbors so if you smile and wave they think you're from the neighborhood, or I'll drive down in my work truck and they think I am working on one of the houses. But driving through is totally different than parking your car and fishing for a couple hours.

Place is loaded with scup and seabass. I take my kids (they're little) down there couple times a summer to do some bottom fishing from the boat.
