without sending any money to the charity. Just curious. My wife would never use them because she didn't feel it was right. But some came the other day and were smaller than what usually is sent out and fits the envelope better. She jumped all over them. Generally you get just enought to last a year.

Usually just get thrown away but if they're going to sent stuff unsolicited what do they except. Playing on guilt doesn't always work.

I get a lot from groups like the DAV and similar orgs, mostly because I've donated to them. And by using the labels it keeps those disabled vets working.

I think of it this way...
1) I've probably given to the group sometime in the past to get on their mailing list.
2) The alternative is that I throw them out where they become landfill.

I see nothing wrong with it. They are a gift designed to generate undeserved guilt. I don't use them because I hate mind games that businesses and organizations play.
