I'm curious as to when Stan Gibbs turned the operation over to his son John? Any info?

Thanks,
DZ

He didn't. Stan sold Stan Gibbs Lures to a business known as the Falmouth Tackle Box ( you'll notice on the back of some of the plug package cards it's gives a Falmouth address.

John turned for them, when they decided to stay just in the retail end ( and eventually folding) they sold it to John.

1975'+/-.

At that time the Tackle Box had 3 shops & was one of the largest Mail order in the country.
That is when My dad purchased Cape Cod Charlies from them.

Dennis:

I asked a similar queation and this is one response (from Ditch Digger):

Here's the chronology of the locations, as best as I can remember:

Old Plymouth Rd--Stan, and John's first stint as owner.

Falmouth--when they were briefly sold to The Tackle Box, early 80s

Old Plymouth Rd---John's second stint, early to mid 80s.

North Bilerica--when John sold to Jim and Debbie Griecci--late 80s or early 90s.

South Yarmouth--when the Grieccis moved there in the early 1990s.

Cumberland.

I think the "14 Atlantic Avenue" address for North Bilerica is a mis-print. 14 Atlantic was the South Yarmouth address. Griecci may have had some labels printed up after he moved operations to the Cape and the printer might have run off the old "North Bilerica" in error.
