View Full Version : Nice little skiff FS.
BigBo 01-21-2008, 09:31 PM This is a nice traditional skiff. 14' Stur-Dee Amesbury Skiff.
The only real issue with the boat itself is that the oak rub rails need to be replaced. Not a difficult job at all. The skiff is a late 70's I believe. I can check tomorrow (working all night tonight). Glass is solid and has built in floatation.
The motor is a 1992 Johnson 15 hp. Runs very well. New water pump kit installed, and gas tank included too.
Also included is the mid 90's bunk trailer.
NEW PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $1xxx
Rock bottom price = $1200. Got to go.
Feel free to ask questions. Nice inshore fishing skiff ready for the spring run.

NEWENGLAND 01-22-2008, 11:41 AM OFFER WITHDRAWN!
BigBo 01-22-2008, 12:04 PM Sorry. No trades. Need cash. Boat is located in MA on South Shore.
BigBo 01-22-2008, 01:49 PM I'll entertain offers as long as they're reasonable.
You'd be surprised how stable this boat is as well as the chop it can handle. The traditional Amesbury Skiff design is such that you can lean the boat right over to the gunwales and not swamp her. Also designed for the tough NE waters.
Come on guys. You know you want this cool little skiff. It's perfect for the bays, rivers, and coastal waters of this area. It would also make a nice shell fishing skiff.
BigBo 01-23-2008, 02:40 PM ^^^
This will take you to all those places that have lost access to the beaches. Also good for us aging Portly Anglers Club members that are starting to feel the burn in your knees when humping the beaches and rocks. :hee:

No offers?:sleeps:
Swimmer 01-26-2008, 05:14 PM I had one of these. Exact same boat with a 25 hp long shaft evinrude on it. Bo right about the swamping. I manually pulled pots in some heavy water off of Burts' in Plymouth and out in front of the power plant. You could lean it over on its side and always floated up above any wave action. Flat water that 25 h.p. engine pushed that boat like a you know what. I went quite aways on decent days with it fishing the salt.
BigBo 01-26-2008, 06:18 PM I may just end up keeping it. :spin::D
BigFish 01-26-2008, 10:51 PM Wish I had the dough! She looks like a sweet deal!:btu:

BigFish 02-21-2008, 07:49 AM Bob is it sold yet?
BigBo 02-21-2008, 03:22 PM Not yet Larry.
BigFish 02-21-2008, 05:36 PM I am pondering!
BigBo 02-21-2008, 05:54 PM I'll put you on the easy payment plan. :hee: Pay over time.:)
BigFish 02-21-2008, 05:57 PM Don't tempt me!:err:
ProfessorM 02-21-2008, 06:47 PM GO for it Larry. You will never regret getting a boat of that size and the opportunities that it opens up for you.
Slipknot 02-21-2008, 09:12 PM If I didn't already have a skiff, I'd have scooped this one up in a second.
1dozenraw 02-21-2008, 09:55 PM Is the trailer towable now? Is it also registered?
BigBo 02-21-2008, 11:11 PM The trailer is in fact towable. It will need new U Bolts for the springs at some point, but is definately road worthy for the time being. I didn't renew the registration this year.
BigBo 02-23-2008, 10:07 PM Ok. Final bump to the top here. I have a couple of people that have shown interest off this site. I wanted to let it go to someone here and I would have donated 10% to S-B.com
Looks as though there are no takers here so I will go into negotiations with the interested parties later this coming week. So. If anyone from here is still interested, please contact me as soon as possible and we'll work something out. I've dropped the price as much as reasonably possible just in the interest of moving it. The motor alone is worth at least half the asking price. The hull and trailer need very little work to be 100%
Thanks for looking everyone. :wavey:
vineyardblues 02-24-2008, 04:40 PM Just a quick FYI on this nice boat.
You can buy new, improved (cap) railings from the factory.Complete!
For 300.00 and change. The boat will look new as ever
