I was watching Pat's Bears Superbowl last night on NFL network. Brought back some memories as I was watching that as a senior in HS over in Germany at the time - game started at 11PM IIRC.

Besides the obvious questions touched on in another thread like would the 07 Pats (or 04/05 Pats) beat the 85 Bears. I was thinking, how would Steve Grogan do as QB of the 01-07 Pats? Would BillB make a superbowl winning team with Grogan at the helm. Just having fun pondering this question. What do you all think?

It is easy to say what would happen with Tony Eason as QB :gorez:

Tony Eason would be a pro bowler in todays game the way the defense can't touch a QB.

Larry,
That was a quote from John Hannah yesterday on D & C (weei)
Hannah was also quoted years ago something about Eason wearing a skirt !

I saw Grogan play a lot in his early days. He had a cannon for an arm, but he had two weaknesses--he wasn't all that accurate, and he never looked away from his primary receiver. Stanley Morgan and Russ Francis made him look better than he really was. Grogan was quoted as saying, "It's impossible to overthrow Stanley Morgan" and he was absolutely correct. Grogan was a wishbone QB at Kansas State. The only thing he had over Brady was his legs.

Brady's light years better than Grogan. How many times do you see Brady look at the entire field before deciding to throw? Sometimes he hits his third option. Grogan wasn't capable of that, and Brady has lazer accuracy when he's on top of his game. Very underrated deep ball, too.

How'd Bernie Kosar do under BB? ;)

Over the last couple of years I've enjoyed watching Brady scanning the Defense. You can almost hear him think. When he's done on the field, he's going to be an unholy coach. I can't think of any other athlete who has impressed me as much as Tom B has.
