anyone use these for bass fishing? i know they are very popular for tuna and what not but what about bass and blues? also how would you use them for these species? i was gonna buy either a 3.5 or 5oz and give it a try this summer.
heres a pic of what im talking about:

I could see throwing them into bunker schools and just working them for blues. But would see more use of them in the fall when the diamond jig bite starts up, I would remove one of the hooks for that though.

im gonna give it a try with the butterfly setup and see how it works that way. i recently watched an outdoor program on guys butterfly jigging for rooster fish and man did that look fun. just not sure if this is something that has stayed down south for a reason or if it just hasn't been tried to much up here.

Ever since modern braided line became available I have used 3-4 oz DH stingers and crippled herring to "vertical" jig for bass in the big rips behind Nantucket and the Vineyard with excellent success. You lob the jig in front of the rip and bounce it over the ridge into the trough while the boat slides along the face of the rip. Works better than wire line jigging (and is much more fun) most of the time.

I use them on tuna and they work good, albeit if that is the BassPro one, the finish does chip fairly easily. Haven't tried on bass or blues, but they should work.
