I got an email from a friend letting me know that 12 days from today cell phone numbers will given out to telemarketing companies allowing them to call cells, thus costing you minutes/$$$
The email included a phone number to call keeping your number from being given out.
I called it and it appears to be legit!
Anyone else know of this
This is the number I was given and called.

This is from the FTC.gov site on the donotcall registry.

You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. Federal Communications Commission regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers.
