ThomCat 02-07-2008, 05:26 AM :sleeps: Did anyone catch this guy's rant yesterday? He said, in effect, "What we did to the league and especially New England is 'we beat you down.'" Easy big fella, 3 points ain't exactly the Little Bighorn. It must be a New York state of mind.
BigFish 02-07-2008, 05:59 AM This from a guy that held the Giants over a barrel until the season almost started as to whether he was coming back to play or not! :rollem:
Post Superbowl Balls!
Raven 02-07-2008, 06:17 AM words to pay for later on down the road
wrikerjr 02-07-2008, 07:15 AM i think he is entitled to say anything related to football he wants, he's earned it.
ThomCat 02-07-2008, 07:27 AM i think he is entitled to say anything related to football he wants, he's earned it.
:bshake:Never said he wasn't entitled to say anything he wants and I am aware this is America. I, too, am allowed in the USA, to express my views and I think he was just a bit over the top.
The Dad Fisherman 02-07-2008, 08:06 AM and you don't think that holding the highest scoring offense in league history to 2 TD's (one of which they got off of a Pass interference call) is not a Beat Down....I don't see anything wrong with what he said....they DID deliver us a Beatdown, why do you think we lost? That turf saw more of Brady's ass than Gisele did.
it was considred a Beatdown when we beat the Rams....and that was 3 points.
striperking70 02-07-2008, 08:06 AM :sleeps: Did anyone catch this guy's rant yesterday? He said, in effect, "What we did to the league and especially New England is 'we beat you down.'" Easy big fella, 3 points ain't exactly the Little Bighorn. It must be a New York state of mind.
A 12 1/2 point underdog wins the game sounds like a beatdown.
ThomCat 02-07-2008, 08:46 AM ;) I guess opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got one. Mine is that 3 points is an "eeked out" not a "beatdown" Jus sayin'...
BTW Who says it ain't fishin' season? If you put out the right bait you'll definately get a few BITES!!!! :fishin: :rotf3: :bl: :rotf2: :fight: :rotf2: :tooth:

:grins:Yup the Pats won by three and were glad of it each time! No verbal diarrhea or disrespect. I guess that's what happens when you've never been there before, you don't know how to act. :conf:

What do you consider a QB picking his ass up off the ground 23 times?
My a-hole says that's a beatdown.
fishaholic18 02-07-2008, 02:00 PM What do you consider a QB picking his ass up off the ground 23 times?
My a-hole says that's a beatdown.
I agree..Our O line took a beat down from the Giants D line for sure.
ThomCat 02-07-2008, 02:02 PM What do you consider a QB picking his ass up off the ground 23 times?
:bshake: :jester: I'd have to consider that a TIRED ASS!!!! :eyes:
The Dad Fisherman 02-07-2008, 02:45 PM Like i said....

You can say anything you want, America saw it and The giants D beat you down:shocked:
pmueller 02-08-2008, 11:37 AM He's a bonehead. Even the New Yorkers don't like him.
Rockfish9 02-08-2008, 12:08 PM yup, beat down.... Giants beat them in every aspect of the game... sure looked like a beatdown from my living room....:crying:
At least Brady got to get his tooshy rubbed all better by gisele... every one else needed a whirl pool.
Andy D 02-08-2008, 01:02 PM He's a bonehead. Even the New Yorkers don't like him.I don't know about that Pete. Maybe at the start of the season but a win like this Super Bowl gives the fans a short memory ( can you say Hall Of Fame )
ProfessorM 02-08-2008, 01:16 PM I would like to know how many of the loyal Giants fans were calling for Coughlin's head after the first few games an also last year there was gripping about him. And how many were bitching about Manning being the guy. Any of you care to admit that?
Mike P 02-08-2008, 01:28 PM Absolutely. The same way a lot of you guys were calling for "Francoma's" head much of the last 4 seasons. Or ship Manny out to Podunkville, or trade JD Drew for a case of Budweiser, and so on, and so on........
The Dad Fisherman 02-08-2008, 01:50 PM Now THATS Funny
Don't forget the same people (myself included) that said No Way No How do we want Moss....he's a Cancer

eastendlu 02-08-2008, 03:18 PM I'm guilty Proffesor but then again i never claimed to be a sport genious i'm just another armchair Q'back when there is no fishing to be had.:uhuh:
ProfessorM 02-08-2008, 08:09 PM I actually like Tito. Manny I like him too. I was definitely ready to trade JD for can of Bud. Doesn't make you a bad person Lu. I was just curious. Funny how people do sub par for just a short period of time and they are lambasted. I always like when someone comes around to make people eat their words. I always root for the underdogs. That is why I can't look down on the Giants for what they did. Would have been a little easier if they had been from Sheboygan instead of Gotham City though.

I said that about Moss when he was with the Vikings, when I heard Oakland was going to get him, while he was a Raider and now that he's been with the Pats.
Mark my word, his true colors will come out if or when things start to go bad for the Pats!
pmueller 02-08-2008, 10:36 PM I don't know about that Pete. Maybe at the start of the season but a win like this Super Bowl gives the fans a short memory ( can you say Hall Of Fame )
Andy, he played a great game. All the giants fans deserve your day in the sun.
I will say, I just hope the kids watching don't think thats the way to act after winning. I don't want my kid acting like that.
Congrats Giants.
Duke41 02-09-2008, 07:50 AM Strahan a giant HGH head. Do you think that the gap in his teeth is just there. Or hi huge sloping forehead. He is on Human Growth Hormone. Enjoy this short life while you can Mike. Then its off to brain cancer and liver cancer.

I must be talking to Yorker wanabe's. Like the people I work with. Like the Mike and the Mad Dog.
I can see how some opinions may have changed the last week or so.

EATING WORDS!!!
True Champions are mindful of what they say in Victory and Defeat, they are respectful of their opponent so as not to lessen thier achievement, and when seeking CLASS in post game comments one needs to look no further than PATS #'s 12, 54, 55, 37, & 81.
This one will sting for awhile, gents, but THESE Patriots will return and I look for a back-to-back should they play themselves to the post season in '08. Hey, Strahan! How's bout some salt and pepper to go with those shallow comments, you one and DONE (took him 13+yrs to get 1), beeee otch??
Mike P 02-11-2008, 10:50 AM Hey, Strahan! How's bout some salt and pepper to go with those shallow comments, you one and DONE (took him 13+yrs to get 1), beeee otch??
Yeah, but what a one. Even if it's one and done, it's the one that consigned your team to ignominy as the first undefeated regular season team to lose a Super Bowl. No matter how many you win, being first at anything never goes away. 26 WS rings or not, the Yankees are always going to be known as the first to blow a 3-0 lead in games. Every time a team goes up 3-0 in a post season series and the other team starts coming back, the announcers and press are going to cite the 2004 Yankess and start speculating whether they'll have company. If and when another team goes 16-0 during the regular season, the name of the "New England Patriots of 2007" is going to be the main topic of discussion during the 5 week run of the playoffs.
Did the Giants defensive line stomp on Brady, or did they not? 5 sacks, 23 hits. If that isn't a stomping, what is. To the victor go the spoils.
Duke, take a guess at Strahan's weight. Would it surprise you to learn that he weighs less now than he did as a rookie, less than Umenyiora, and less than even some of the Giant's linebackers? That gap in his teeth has been there since his rookie season.
And I suppose that Light got to 325 pounds on momma Light's good cooking ;)
BassDawg 02-11-2008, 06:30 PM Did the Giants defensive line stomp on Brady, or did they not? 5 sacks, 23 hits. If that isn't a stomping, what is. To the victor go the spoils.
Never have I doubted or questioned their CHAMPIONSHIP, that was well deserved and hard fought. Their perfromance on Super Bowl Sunday will go down as one of the Greatest Super bowl UPSETS, ever.
Why? Because they weren't supposed to win that game.
13 1/2 point dogs to what 95% of the NFL World was calling the
GTOAT, and rightly so. Doan't get me wrong, they did smash the PATS in the mouth for 4 quarters, and they did stomp Brady into the grass.
Certainly a defeat of that nature will have its effects. Humbling, yes! Humiliating, Never! You doan honestly believe that this team is done, do you? And while i wholeheartedly agree, that >>>>>vvvvv
To the victor go the spoils............................
Why spoil the sweet Victory
with such assinine commments :wid:??
Mike P 02-11-2008, 08:09 PM I haven't seen you sign yet--what are you waiting for? Time's a wasting--you still might get that 19-0 after all :rotf2:

BassDawg 02-12-2008, 05:42 PM That is ludicrous and defies LOGIC!!
Some valid points, but it's waaaay too late to do anything about it now. We will just have to KICK THIER ARSES, next year!
