View Full Version : I have no desire to go out there Mr. Sandman 02-11-2008, 02:50 PM this time of year.... I don't know how those guys do it. spence 02-11-2008, 02:58 PM Freakish weather Sunday for sure. It's still blowing here but looks to be tapering off. -spence zacs 02-11-2008, 03:05 PM I don't know how those guys do it. over to $200K for one trip. They just keep repeating that over and over as 20+footers crash over the bow. Mr. Sandman 02-11-2008, 03:18 PM That's a tough way to make a buck. I bet we had some gusts out here that were easy 65+, the trees in my yard laid right over and I thought my shed was going to blow away. You hear a deep roar when it really gets crankin. I just can't imagine being out there in that, at night, in this temp, no less trying to do something constructive besides holding on for your life. zacs 02-11-2008, 03:28 PM I just can't imagine being out there in that, at night, in this temp, no less trying to do something constructive besides holding on for your life. Me neither. f' that. MakoMike 02-11-2008, 06:30 PM Hopefully everyone got the word and they were all tied up at the dock. No way they could work a dredge in that weather. Goose 02-11-2008, 10:25 PM This year I thought about doing that in my offseason, a second later my next thought was F that. bloocrab 02-11-2008, 11:38 PM I was drinkin at a local rat hole down by the river where some Gloucester fishermen were waiting it out, or rather waiting for the call - I thought they were crazy, they told me they could "only be as crazy as the captain"...Money has always had a strange way of helping people make decisions..They had cruised down from Gloucester and pit-stopped in Fall River to see what the weather decided to do. If the captain decided to go out, they had 2 choices....get on the boat and possibly make some money, OR...don't get on the boat and find your own way back home - - - I was VERY impressed as NONE of them were drinking alcohol, ONLY bottled water. They said if the captain knew they had drank, they were only offered the 2nd option, BAD weather or not, that was the captain's #1 RULE. I applaud that Captain and hope he decided to stay in last night. God Bless them if they headed out - zacs 02-12-2008, 11:04 AM i would wager they waited a day or two. it is they guys that had been out there for 5-7 days that don't want to break a trip that you gotta feel for. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
