Jut looking for some thoughts from folks that have been there.
Which areas of the beach should I concentrate on?
I don't really know the area all that well but make it up there a couple times a year. Once in the summer, once in the fall. I'm going up next month and I'd like to bring my rod for the first time.
I go to the light house, down the stairs and that's what I know...
Thanks,
Rob

The area where the fish are;)
When you are talking surf in Chatham you have two options either Nauset Beach or South beach. So you might want to specify since that may affect the reponse. A lot of guys have complained about the lack of 'stucture' on Nauset this year but every year is different and an area with bad structure this year could be completely different come next spring.
Lou Tabory's book Inshore Fly Fishing does a great job on explaining/detailing how to read a beach and fish it effectively. Although his book is targeted towards fly fisherman the information can be applied to both spin and fly techniques. Worth reading even if you never intend on picking up Saltwater Fly Fishing.
