I wish it was an Arliegh Burke Destroyer that fired the missle, but the end result is all that matters.

:cheers2: to the best military in the world!!!!!

... the satellite and the kill vehicle collided at a combined speed of 22,000 mph about 130 miles above Earth's surface.

I believe I read somewhere that an AB was expected to be one of the tracking ships to assist the Tico in the shoot down... Very interesting here but contrary to popular belief/rumors/reporting - not an ASAT test like the Chinese did last year...

Is it on video? Do we know it actually happened?

I think the MNA (martian new agency) reported it, should be legit.

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

I can't vouch for any of this, but for chits and giggles, and assuming it's true (which I do) , doesn't this show of naval power and accuracy impress you?

It is impressive, BUT given the nature of the mission and the space arms race, it isn't too far fetched to believe that EVEN IF they missed, they wouldn't admit it. I'll believe it, otherwise I'll sound like Nebe! :D

it probabaly was a Marine that pulled the trigger.

I am not sure a Marine could actually find the trigger switch

For the Nebe Tin Hats :hihi: - these videos were put up earlier today. Also, judging by the ferocity of the beyotching by China and Russia, I'd say we can be reasonably sure that the Navy SM3 did more than mar the paint on that satellite...

Like patriot missile defense?

Patriot has a pretty good track record.

I saw the Scud go over and the Patriot never fired that night.. Every time it fired it worked that's why we wandered around like Englishmen in the Rain knowing our umbrella would keep us dry...

My question is on this shoot, were we protecting the people or our technology?

For the Government to say that they destroyed this because of the hazardous Hydrazine fuel is bunk.

The only reason this was destroyed was to make absolute sure that all classified hardware was totally destroyed before coming down to earth as to not fall into the wrong hands. period.

This just shows how vunerable space is. Alls it takes is for say China or another country to down enough of our military satellites and we are basically screwed. Too much dependancy on electronic warfare.
