My son's first derby tommorow, I get to live vicariously through him. God I hope I don't do that when (if) her gets into sports!

cool paint and design ... They let you work on your tires ? Point them ,, they have mandrels to spin .. polish nails .. powdered graphite .

We won in our pack and go to district finals today. This is the car before the wheels. Tagger I got 3 pages of rules from the pack leader. Not allowed to mess with the wheels.

did polish the axels and add graphite, did not do anything to the wheels. My son had a ball building it. He chose the design, paint etc. I let him pull down on the drill press, but i did the cutting on the bandsaw. He did alot of sanding swirled the paint and dipped the car. He watched and asked questions the whole way, so I think he did learn from it and he does have fun with me in the workshop.

Sweet cars. I love this time of year. All wheels can and should be trued and debured, just not reshaped. :point:LEAVE THE BUMPS ON THE EDGE that is the first thing they look for and the first thing everybody wants to remove. Axle, wheels and weight placement are where the speed is. design and paint is the fun part. My latest outlaw car beat all ages by 2 car lengths:musc:

Our rules would not allow us to widen the wheelbase that much.
That is key
