got a question, I hit up the local wally world on Friday, and scored a mess of paint on the cheap. Problem is I got a sweet musso I put three nice coats of Sunburst Yellow, Rusto on it. I picked up a can of wally world orange which I would like to hit the top of the plug with,... But before I do this, do you think they would play nice together??? I tested it on a scrap piece of wood to see what will happen. Has anyone ever done a paint compatibility chart ? If not, maybe this will persuade me to set up an independent test, complete with scientists in white lab coats, with clipboards an all.
Thanks,

I have painted createx over rustoleum flat colors before without any issue. Just had to wait 48 hours after the rustoleum to do the createx. I would do a test on a scrap piece of wood first though to make sure the colors/paint types play well together.

I've used Rustoleum over wally paint and haven't had a problem yet. I just gave them the necessary time between coats. (24-48 hours) But I've also just started so others may have different results.

I have used a bunch of different brands of rattle can paints, rusto, krylon, etc. I would only give them 1/2 hour between coats ,& sometimes not even that long (mostly dry to touch, light coats) & I never had a problem. As long as all your paints are oil based & you do not spray latex (water based) on top of oil based (or visa versa) you should not have a problem.
