Yes, it is that time of year again. Spring is (literally) around the corner, the birds are doing their things, the sun is hanging a little longer in the sky, and the countdown to fresh keeper fish can be as short as a month from now for New England.

And it is time to Defend The Cup!

A good crew from S-B went out last year and earned a victory for the Striper Cup - From TO's first Canal Fish at the very start, the RI night time push, Islands, the North Shore Romp and all the way to the tight race at the end with competition from the very competent anglers of Team Jersey Shore breathing down our necks to the assembled Highlining Big Bass anglers of Team Striper. The competition was unreal, as was the effort put in by people from Team S-B to succeed in that challenge.

I wish I personally contributed more to the team in results but I did put in effort. Team S-B will need a strong effort this year to repeat and to additionally honor last years results. Repeat. That is going to be very hard. Repeat. The Old Schaefer Cup supposedly let a team keep the cup if they one several years in a row, the expectations were that a threepeat would be so rare. I think this is the same in the Striper Cup - simply repeating will be a monstrous challenge.

Repeat. Repeat The Cup. Defend the Title. Join Team S-B :btu:

REPEAT The Cup :humpty:

So please come and Sign up for Team S-B. You can register online at OnTheWater.com and here is the registration link (http://www.onthewater.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=OTW&Category_Code=SC)

Count me, IN!!

i will also be registering as an individual,
from the shore, if it's not against the rules.

John, how does that work? Same feesh counts for both,
or do i have to kill separate stripers for each category?

S-B has been very good to me over the years and I have met some great people. I don't think I am the same caliber of fisherman as those that won last year, but I'd like to do my part. I have big plans for 2008, so hopefully I can contribute. I just registered for the boat division, so I am officilaly in.

John,

How would i go about doing this. And i have to agree with jimmy, not the exact same caliber as some of the members on here, but I would enjoy helping out in anyway i could.

This is my first year fishing for s-b so please forgive this question but what are the guidelines we use for contributing fish in the tourney? I know the SC will not accept fish less than 36" but do we use a higher number?

How many guys can we have? I'm in if there is room. And what are the team guidlines? Example.....weight limit? Thanks.

Rappin Mikey
04-16-2008, 09:38 AM
Don't weigh any fish under 30#. No fishing in pantyhose and women's underwear. Unless you are a woman, than that's fine. Well, the pantyhose thing would still be odd I guess.

Forget it then.:hihi:

Well likely have a lot less people than some clubs so plenty of room.

Rapping Bomba more or less covered it. Not much sense of entering anything under 30#s from a team standpoint as the top 10 fish will likely be over 30. No sense to weigh in fish that don't need weighing in.

You chose shore or boat. Shore gets a 1.2 multiplier from pounds to points. Boat is a point per pound.

The more the merrier...

Well, I just got my otw, and the sign up sheet pamphlet is in it, I forgot what I paid last year, do I pay the $25 for being an OTW subscriber, or is it, $30 to fish with SB.com again? This is the year of the large, I thinking restoring that 704z is going to illicit some good ju-ju.
