Well, we started out early but the cold was freezing guides and keeping the trout from touching hardware (they were being caught by folks using trout heroin, er, I mean Powerbait).
So we went shopping at M&D's then meandered over to RedTop tp peruse the selection and somehow ended up in Eastham at a pizza joint ( best on the Planet BTW) then to a herring run in Eastham ( no show yet) then feeling it had warmed up enough we went trout fishing in some outer Cape ponds.
The first pond Stiffy scored the only one with a nice holdover Tiger who gave a good account of itself in the gin clear ice cold water.
(See pic below)
Then it was to Art's Cove for a MANO Y MANO trout for trout slugfest for the last hour of our allotted time to fish.
We found fish ( see pic of Stiffy holding a brown up) seperately but in sight of each other by 200 yards or so. They slowed for me after 4 landed and several missed hits so I wandered to Stiffy's spot where he had 8 to my 4. He wanted a Cpae Cod Trout slam which is one tiger, one brown, one rainbow and one Brookie. He had all but the rainbow when I came up to his area whereupon I took 4 rainbows to his none and tagged a Tiger to capture the slam and deny him his. We caught and released 13 trout apiece with as many hits missed. But once again I showed him what for with a come back tie and took the slam. He couldn't buy the rainbow. ( I told him to go to the Colorado!)
