Looking through my collection of old stuff, I found I still have a
set of custom made rod racks that fit on the luggage rack when I had my cherokee.
They were made by the machinist where I used to work. All aluminum (painted black) with thick pads for the equipment. they scissor open and closed like the ski racks on the yuppie cars.;)
We made them specifically for the luggage rack so the clamp is shaped kinda oval for top and bottom clamping. (??hard to explain in words).
I used them when I used to surf fish alot. The back rack is high so the reel could hang down without touching the roof, the front rack is shorter. Highway tested at 70+ MPH.;) with 11' rods. It will probably hold 6 big rods, it goes all the way across the roof.
I don't know what they are worth, but they are useless to me.
If anyone is interested, I'll take a BO...
