You are most likely trying to store horizontal in the bed when driving to boat ???

Hey Bill! What do you need the rod rack for the truck when you have that beauty of a boat?:wavey:

What are you looking to do....fabricate or buy premade? Cooler carrier or not? mounted on the front or in the bed? Locking or not?

I have the same style bed Jules...have you ever seen the rod rack I built for the back? Removes in a quick second, holds 9 rods, cost me about $15.00 to build? I will try to find some pics to post! Does it have a bed liner?

Don't know if I have the same idea as BigFish or not but... My GMC bed has slots to lay a 2x6 horizontally in the back of the bed a little over a foot high. 1 PT 2x6 across the bed bun geed down to factory eye bolts in back corners of bed. Cut 1 1/2 PVC into rod holders and screwed them to the bottom of the 2x6 at a slight up angle (wood spacer across the 2x6). Add as many as you want. Two eye bolts at either end of 2x6 for bun gees and cable I use to lock reels to the hole contraption. As BigFish said, can be had for under $15. Will try to take a picture tomorrow. I got the idea from someone here who posted pictures of a similar rack made of plywood.
