The guy next door to where I work on Cape is redoing this boat, his buisness. He does lot's of nice older and new boats. Even builds them too i think. I have been looking at it for the last week and decided to take a couple pictures. It is a beauty. Looks like some kind of older bass boat, Mackenzie, Crosby, or such but I am not sure. I was going to go in and ask him but he is gone by the time I get to work. It is a big heavy thing probably every bit 30'. Pictures not great as it was very foggy last nite. Any ideas

Beautiful boat. That would be a very comfortable fishing machine. Especially if it's set up with tiller steering. I don't think it's a Crosby Canyon and it doesn't look like the MacKenzie's I've seen. I'm not familiar with the larger Brownells or Fortiers, so it may be one of those. The 3 cabin windows don't look familiar to me. I love the old bass boats. I used to fish a lot from a Crosby Striper and it was a nice ride and great for New England fishing.

Verry nice, bow thruster too. It doesn't look like any classic that I am familar with. Not a dyer, brownell, Mack, Crosby, Tripp. That high windshield with the cabin
If it was for sale for around 5500. I'd take it.

Yes.

Maybe the guy that owns the place built it. Yes I was surprised to see the bow thruster.

Nice lines, My guess it is a Maine boat dressed for cruising, close to but not a Duffy, there are many choices for lobster hulls dressed up.

That boat must turn within its own length, look how forward the rudder is! Lots of draft at the keel, looks close to 4'.

My guess at first glance was a 24' Crosby Striper, but looking at her more closely, I agree with Beamie, it has to be a Maine hull. There are now so many builders who have designed their own hulls and other who have bought hulls and modified them to make them their own, it's tough to tell sometime. But sweet lines, I bet she is a tank. Would be very at home backed into the Old Man south of ACK!

I thought it looked familiar, I'm 95% sure it's a custom Hunter Scott Boatworks. Hunter is real good and has produced some very nice boats. He's also well known for restoring 31 Berts.

didnt he just do a 31 Bert last summer?

I kind of though it might be one of his own boats. I have seen some beauties there over the years, although he doesn't leave them outside very often. It does look like a tank. I bet it weighs a couple of tons.

Hooper,

First thing I said was 24 Crosby too, until seeing it was much bigger than 24'.

She may be a duffy. One of the boatyards in portsmouth finished a 31' as a bass boat a couple of years ago. She was navy blue with a bow thruster - might be the same boat.
I was aboard her at a boatshow- nicely finished. They were trying to market it as an Eastbay 31' or something like that. -- sat in front of their office for a long time.

My father is friends with him, I'll ask who's hull it is. Hooper has it right there are so many people finishing off Maine hulls right now that it's tough to figure out what's what these days.

Actually,
There Were so many people finishing off Maine hulls!
LOTS of them are standing around doing nothing!!!
Not a lot of boats being built in this economy !!!
Nice boat , though I'm not a big fan of the "Bass Boat" cabin type

Ronnie is correct about there were allot of boats being built

The lines on the hull are awesome though I'll have to give a thumbs down on 3 port holes per side on the cabin. Would be much better looking with only 2. The windshield is a bit high in proportion to the boat though practicality wise probably allows you to look through it without either d#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g or standing on your toes. And finally for fishing purposes they lost allot of cockpit extending the cabin sides so far aft. The slope from the windshield aft could have been steeper allow more anglers to jig ground fish from the side.

I'll still take it thou..........

Looking into a twin to this.

Thats a Nauset 29 hull in a custom convertible configuration. Nauset bought all the old Bruno-Stillman molds so Maine influence in a Cape Cod fabricated boat.

No, not yet. I ordered the names and homeport from a vinyl signmaker and if it ever warms up, just a little, I can go in. This one in Maine looks like the nicest one for sale right now....
