Im thinking of taking the wife and kids out to Ptown on Mothers day to walk around for awhile. I havent been out there in afew years.
Anyone have any restaurant reccomendations? Not sure what types of food but need something relatively kid friendly.

she was the older (late 60's), smaller sister to the tour boat we used to run up through 06. The Princess was the original vessel in our former fleet. I'm always glad to see her still running. I guess the present owners run a 'pirate' cruise with the crew in Pirate costumes and such for the kids.

Michael's - excellent family restaurant. Not downtown - at the beginning of Commercial St, at the fork.

Price is moderate and has a decent salad bahh.:shocked:

Michael Shay's has a great breakfast brunch on weekends, too

Salt, regrettable, Jack's is long gone. As is the Moors. My favorites.

Michael Shay's is reasonable family fare, as is Montano's on 6 in North Truro. If you want to spend money, Napi's is nice and has ambiance, and Clem & Ursies is expensive but kid friendly (think $23 fish platters on paper plates on picnic table style seating). As far as the kid friendly aspect goes, Michael Shay's, Clem & Ursies and Montano's are your best bets. I know Montano's has a website with the menu - do a search. Personally, I like Montano's.

Everything else is pretty much high dollar food for art's sake. Ptown dining mainly caters to a certain demographic that expects more than basic table fare.

PS - the wife will like Napi's, guaranteed.

I liked Fat Jacks cause it was a year round operation. many things there are only open for the tourist season.

Michael Shay's is year round and has a great breakfast buffet. But once the season starts, Terra Luna on 6A in Truro is awesome, and Right on 6 Adrain's at the Outer Reach is pretty good. A good hash sling joint in Ptown is Tips for Tops'n on Bradford.

Any place on the water you can get to by boat to grab a sandwich ?You can pull up to the Ptwn marina on Cabrals wharf and walk down the wharf.Townsend fish&loster at the head of the wharf is 1st then the rest of the madness is less then a minute away.The Surf club is at the head of Macmillan wharf.

Looks like a positive Ptown change is coming: The guys who developed Nantucket Harbor (or was it MV?) and Newbury (definitely) have purchase one of the piers in town, and are aiming to develop it into a premier summer harbor destination. The young gay males who used to flock to Ptown are no longer showing up (it's soo yesterday) and the town is hurtin'. So hopefully there will be some pull up and dine places in the future.

I've never been there, but the wife says Bubula's is real good. At Whaler's Wharf there is or was a place calles Ross's,which was good for lunch. The Red Inn is pricey but very good. As mentioned before You can't go wrong with Napi's or Montano's. If it were me, I'd take a stroll up and down Commercial Street, look the places over, and read the menus that are usually posted outside. When you see what's gonna fill your ticket and go in.
