Just wanted to invite you guys to participate in the Invitational this year. This is a C&R tournament that we run every Memorial Day weekend up on Plum Island.

I've enclosed the official invitaion that we send out to the clubs and would love to see a team or 2 from the site participate. It starts at 11:00 PM on Saturday May 24th and ends at 9:00 AM on Sunday May 25th. We then have a breakfast and awards program.

The cost of the tournament is $5 for non-members and free for members.

Its 6 man teams and if you want to participate I would suggest picking someone to be the Captain/Organizer. I will send them the entry forms and rules.

This is a very laid back event and a great way to shake off the cobwebs from the winter. Hope to see some of you guys.

Ummm some stupid questions for you Kevin;
What are the boundaries?
Is fishing from shore only allowed? (I know, it's a Surfcasting club....but)

And you need to market the breakfast better!!:kewl:

You can find rules here. Just click for pdf file in top right of page. Kevin, I plan on coming and possibly bringing a guest (my brother, possible a future member as well). You gave me the form at past meeting. I only hope I get on a team with someone to show us the ropes up that way due to my limited experience around PI.

Boundries are Plumisland to rte 1. I usually hand out a map that night...and if its on the map you can fish it.

It is a Surf Only Tournament....now if you want to join the club we are having a members only Challenge in June. Surf guys against the Boat guys.

And I can only say that the breakfast last year was Ham, Eggs, Homefries, Donuts and coffee......not bad for a $5 investment

Anyone want to put a S-B team together? At a whopping $5 a head, I'll put up the money for a team :tooth: if six of you commit

Yes, we always have a few MSBA teams participate, nice to see others there as well.

It's a fun time and Kevin makes it easy for participants as he gets local police to be flexible on parking, always some form of raffle and more.

Breakfast is good ... and it's a good time, worth the trip.

Hey Guys,

I would definitley like to fish this tournament, however I don't really have any surfcasting gear.....most of my rods are 7ft, and fly rods 9ft. I do have waders. So if you need an extra man, and have some extra gear (I would pay for whatever is needed or lost in the process), I would love to fish with the team. Thanks!

Billy

My brother and I signed up at last night's PISC meeting. Teamed up with some Ditch Trolls from SOL. Hope to meet lots of new faces (mine being one of them). Hope for a good turnout. Weather shouldn't be an issue. Are kayaks allowed since usually count as shore fish?

Kayaks are not allowed and they are not counted as Shore fish...Kayak fish are boat fish for all PISC tourneys

REAL Slow....not a lot of fish caught at all compared to the last few years....one guy had a 40" fish

MSBA took 1st and 2 different PI team took 2nd and 3rd.

beat right now after just getting back from a cookout....must sleep
