View Full Version : Fishing report
Rappin Mikey 04-26-2008, 01:22 PM Didn't break the 20# mark. But things are definitely picking up. Caught a bunch of fish on top water all week. Nothing over 34" but nothing under 25". I kept one around 30". I have pics, but can't figure the new phone out yet. The good news is that fish have just arrived in my neck of the woods. So, for about two months I get to save money on gas. ZIGGYBUMWA!!!!! If you can tell me where that word is from you get a pack of assassins. You have until tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
tlapinski 04-26-2008, 01:30 PM ZIGGYBUMWA!!!!!

RickBomba 04-26-2008, 03:27 PM OOH,
I know...am I ruled out because I'm the one who used to say it all the time?
How about "Fagabeefie?"
Later,
Rick
RickBomba 04-26-2008, 03:33 PM I was worried that the word might not have been "Ziggybumwa," so I found a clip of the commercial and listened to it just now.
It is most definately "Ziggybumwa."
And the bad news is that you won't get any results if you do a google search on the word, either.
Good luck everybody.
Rappin Mikey 04-26-2008, 05:19 PM Rick. There definitely is no "a" in definitely. Google dat!
Rappin Mikey 04-26-2008, 05:24 PM Fagabeefie. That's funny Ricky!:bl:

1. Hagar the Horrible
2. Asterix and Obelix
Or the galley of any dragger in Fairhaven in the 1970's. Damn that makes it three, doesnt it?
RickBomba 04-27-2008, 08:02 AM :pats2:Bass Dawg.....you're getting warmer...
BassDawg 04-27-2008, 09:00 AM are you saying that it was a South Park spoof of

2. Asterix and Obelix

ALL very good guesses, and
the third one is hilarious and prolly where this
1970's TV icon got it from...................
however he would've picked it up from the draggers
that moored at Halifax rather than Fairhaven..................

BassDawg 04-27-2008, 02:27 PM Right AWWWN, Skitts!
Loved that character, and always figured
him to be some old Sven ~Svedish dude!
that show used to CRACK me up!
that famous foursome cranked out some of the funniest stuff of their day, and it was always FUN to see when Korman would burst out laughing. Burnett was second only to Miss Ball, imho. Funny Gal and troupe they all were.....................
i miss those times of good clean humour, when funny was FUNny!!
RickBomba 04-27-2008, 02:40 PM You guys will have to do better than that.
My reference, "Fagabeefie" is from "Midnight Madness," which I have been trying to rent for the last 24 hours with no avail.
Mikey's is tougher.
OK one hint...
The commercial is from 1984 or so, and it capitalized on the Indiana Jones fervor that was sweeping the country at the time.
OK gotta go fry some clams.
Later,
Rick
:wavey:
Rappin Mikey 04-28-2008, 07:36 AM A lot of good guesses. But no one was really that close. "Ziggybumwa" translates into "Tidal Wave" Which was from the natives' language in the commercial for Tidal Wave Bugglegum back in the 80's. It was totally biting off of the Indiana Jones thing like my brother said. Anyway, more assassins for me!
BassDawg 04-28-2008, 01:53 PM COOL!
Thanks for solving the mystery for me,
and i kinda remember the product, though
the ad escapes me..............ZIGGYBUMWA!!!
still an excellent, word/exclamation. Thanks, Bombas!
Rockport24 04-28-2008, 02:46 PM did somebody say fried clams???
Rappin Mikey 04-28-2008, 06:21 PM No. I am taking a few days off to hang my interior doors, get someone to fix my siding, and get a new sand sled. Looks like I should be good for next weekend. The river I fish here in MA is too high, and my spot in CT is kind of low. Hopefully the time off will be just enough to let the big ones move in and get a bit more active. That's just what I'm telling myself at least. There is a bunch of bait around right now, but if I don't get my chores done you might see me on Divorce Court.
