My next sealer to try is going to be a solvent based acrylic concrete sealer. Probably Sonneborn Kure-n-Seal or Euclid super diamond clear. Has anyone tried these? I used some waterbased acrylic sealers that work so far but have not been thru a season yet. Work great on hard woods but the water in the sealer really has bad esthetic effects on softwood, the grain raises terribly.

One way to try to slow or stop the grain raising is to wet the wood first with water, then let it dry good, then sand smooth again, then seal it. Now you shouldn't get all that much grain raising. It adds a step but the wood will still be sealed with what you are trying to use.
I have not used that stuff

good luck
