I volunteer at A Helping Paw in Wareham, MA. They are a NEVER kill shelter that takes in unwanted animals -- especially those that would be euthanized by other shelters. Along with the traditional adoption center, they have a sanctuary running where pets that are unadoptable because of serious behavioral or medical conditions can live out their lives in peace and cared for. I got one of my cats, Skitty, from A Helping Paw. She's a bad b*tch. I heart her. See attached photo.

GoodSearch is a website that raises money for charities. You can search (a la Google) and also shop to raise money for the animals at A Helping Paw. Please go to http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=839227.

Each search you enter raises a bit more than a penny for the shelter. But think of how many times a day you search.

Also, if you click on the GoodShop button, you can choose a store from the extensive pull-down list at the left, and they will donate a percentage of your purchase to A Helping Paw! Some of the stores on the list are Bass Pro, Cabela's, EBay, Amazon, and tons of others! So if you're gonna buy something anyways, why not go through this site and help a few furries?

Thanks a bunch!

Nice work BB.

Got both my dogs at shelters. Plenty of good pets needing a home without getting a puppy.

BB - I have 2 dogs - both from shelters. They are the best! One of my bestest friends is director of a rescue group in Plymouth. I am awestruck by the work people like you do. I am hearing more and more of pets being abandoned because of foreclosures, financial difficulties, etc. Thanks for all you do!

My German Sheperd is a rescue dog. Nice friendly, not as aggressive, most of the time, compared to other sheperds.
If and when the time comes, I'll definitely go that route again.
