MrHunters 05-02-2008, 01:18 PM the sky falls??
Sluggoslinger 05-02-2008, 01:20 PM Buddy, this is when you have to take a deep breath and realize that at least you're getting all your bad luck for the next couple years out of the way in a short period of time. It can only get better from here, i promise...(hope)

Keep your head high and try to concentrate on the good ie Star is still with you and will get better plus its the start of fishing season. Go toss a line when you get a chance. If i was back there i'd take you fishing in chatham. I know a great spot that will be producing keepers very soon that you can walk to... PM me if you want to know where.
striperman36 05-02-2008, 02:19 PM My suggestion is to go buy a lottery ticket.
FishermanTim 05-02-2008, 02:25 PM KARMA: a fine balance between good and bad.
Raven, you've gotten MORE than your share of bad out of the way.
Here's hoping the "Good Karma" train makes a stop at your station. It's time for some good karma.
The best bet is to do something that you enjoy, and makes you feel good.
Raven 05-02-2008, 02:57 PM words of encouragement
are very appreciated today

it's been a rough road lately

i just burried my gofin parrot outside
after having him for 35 years

he had caught a cold this winter
in march and then suddenly died

i then built him a coffin and had him
in the morgue chillin out til now
Raven 05-02-2008, 04:17 PM My suggestion is to go buy a lottery ticket.

and i will .... :claps:
FormerUser 05-02-2008, 04:30 PM OH man....

All I can say is move on.Small words but I'm telling myself the same thing...move forward.

It'll get better. It HAS to.It really has to.
Raven 05-02-2008, 05:17 PM i had the old fridge out in 30 minutes or less
i just got the new fridge in and plugged in
which took me considerably longer to move....
because A,) i had to remove the front wooden door
B.) i had to remove and re-install the power piston bracket for the storm door
and C.) i had to remove the fridge door handles and re-install them

but most importantly... i had to do a burial of a coffin

and that was a sad moment relived... :rollem:

and mainly i spent almost two hours waiting to get on
the Jay Severin Radio SHOW to inform the public about
Blast wrap to save our soilders from IED's in Iraq
and to warm the local audience about friggan boundary marker
pipes that are all over their property's ... what a day !!!
Raven 05-02-2008, 05:44 PM the spare fridge quit just 10 minutes after i plugged it in

shakin my head in amazement

and to top it off...

we just ran out of gas in the propane tanks

on monday and we don't plan on refilling them

because were gonna go electric...stove next///

so NOW...we are not only cooking with a coleman stove
on top of the old gas stove...

but we are living out of a camping cooler too... :hs:

i think i need to go visit the Clammer for awhile

SIGH..... :spin:
Slipknot 05-02-2008, 05:48 PM The other fridge quit now?

did you happen to tilt it sideways getting it into the house at all?
if so you would have needed to give time to let the oil to settle in the motor as it sat upright again, much like an AC unit does.

I have a spare fridge if you need another Raven, let me know
Raven 05-02-2008, 05:50 PM now it's back on again

did the lord just answer my prayer :rtfm:

i sure need a beer

but i didn't pray for beer ...LOL
Raven 05-02-2008, 05:52 PM i had to tilt it towards me when yanking it up
the three stairs to get it in the house.

of course i was using a hand truck

and it's a very large refrigerator

edit add in

thanks for that offer though
BW from AZ 05-02-2008, 06:03 PM Raven, I have learned the hard way to NEVER ASK WHAT ELSE CAN HAPPEN OR GO WRONG. I always got an answer and it wasn"t good. May good luck follow you longer than bad. BW
Clammer 05-02-2008, 09:57 PM whats next ??? ya pregnant with twins ><><.,.:uhuh:
outnumbered 05-02-2008, 09:59 PM Raven you think things are going bad for you my wife and I were going away for vacation so after a 12 hour work day we thook the mother in law out for dinner. She is in a nursing home and we thought it would do her good since we are the only ones who visit her. As we leave the restaurant she somehow puts her foot down I can't stop in time over she goes and does a face plant. 27 stiches later, numberous bruises and three days in the hospital and all because we wanted to do something good for her. Best thing was she didn't remember what happened though so I could make something up and she didn't know I was at the hands of the wheel chair.

Then when I leave the ER at 1:00 AM I have a flat tire.

I hope you start getting some better luck soon you sure have had your share of it.
Raven 05-03-2008, 05:26 AM to hear of the mother in laws tragic fall...

oh man that had to hurt... is she ok now?

i was down in florida last July attending my father in laws wedding
(he's 89) and we had just returned from the whole affair and my mother in law and i were walking towards the end of the driveway.

She had her dog run around her legs with the leash and make her trip (the weird thing was, that i had just told my father in law how dangerous those extend a leashes are the day before...my clairvoyant voice pre warning me again)

and when she went to regain her footing she stepped into a hole and fell into the rain ditch just missing the 3 foot square mailbox foundation by less than an inch. at first i wasn't sure if she had hit it.

I reached out to grab her and missed because i was one second off.....and i swear if she had hit the brick mailbox thing it would have killed her.

That would a been the shortest marriage in history... so it was a very tense situation afterwards considering how close we came to the ultimate tragedy. so in a way i can identify with what you are saying ...even though my (our) situation was much less traumatic.

My mother in law is a very tough woman and just sprained her neck
a little bit and i was quite nervous getting her up because she looked like she was all twisted up....laying there.
Swimmer 05-03-2008, 10:48 AM I think we need to say a prayer for you both, not ask for a change of luck. Some pretty serious stuff have fallen your ways. Of course, Raven I do think you have Outnumbered beat in this category, but I am sorry to hear about your mom-in-laws fall Outnumbered.
Raven 05-03-2008, 07:00 PM my father in LAW... our last remaining parent...went to step down and their new chihuahua
stepped in the way so he tried to avoid stepping
....backwards and he fell into the doorway and broke 3 ribs
and the man will be 89 on the 19th of this month

but listen to this unbelievable story

he goes to see a doctor for some meds for his broken ribs
and the Doctor says ok manny what meds to do you presently take?

and he proudly replied... NONE....

and the Doctor asked again... no really you must be on some kind of medication...
NO he said i don't any medication and i never have because i've never needed to.

the Doctor then copped an attitude and said ok we are all done then

and basically wouldn't treat him at all for lying to him....

the truth is: he's a health food guy and is very healthy
and always has been !!!!!

isn't that a bunch of :bs:
whiplash 05-03-2008, 10:53 PM (1) Dog gets torn up - glad to hear shes doing better
(2) Didn't read about disablity - hope your on the mend
(3) Fridge - hopefully this brings you out of the woods.Good luck best wishes to you and the family
Raven 05-04-2008, 06:21 AM Star is doing a little better each day

she is such a trooper... and hanging tough

when it rains ,it pours ,they say

My disability has gone from a healed ankle break
in 96 to much worse after arthritis set in to my toe
joints and ankle too..... i can no longer take pain meds
as they were slowly killing me... so, i dropped -em completely!

Arthritis... it's kinda like how dripping limestone erodes away rock....

my Doctor might be replacing everything with artificial parts
during winter of 08... but we are just in the discussion phase
at this point....

I met a group of guys fishin for white chins yesterday
down in New Bedford and i asked them if they've ever been to S-B.com
and they were real interested. One guy said he caught a 7 pounder the other day.:kewl:
