Gotta say I am a little pumped to watch the second round series! Having not watched much basketball since the glory days turned to crap (about 20 years) I am a little amped! Anyone else gonna be tuning in?
View Full Version : Second Round Celts/Cavs BigFish 05-05-2008, 05:13 PM Gotta say I am a little pumped to watch the second round series! Having not watched much basketball since the glory days turned to crap (about 20 years) I am a little amped! Anyone else gonna be tuning in? MrHunters 05-05-2008, 05:44 PM key is to stop the rest of the team. lebraun can have his 35 but if the rest don't get shut down it will be trouble ProfessorM 05-05-2008, 05:56 PM As long as they pound the ball inside constantly and get to the line they have a very good chance with their defense. Gunpowder 05-05-2008, 06:10 PM key is to foul lebron all the time with bench boys :) BigFish 05-05-2008, 06:24 PM Celts are much better balanced offensively and they have the leagues best defense......as it was said.....give King James his 40 and let the Cavs cave in! Chamberlain once scored 100 points in a game and lost! ProfessorM 05-05-2008, 06:37 PM They won like 169 to 150 or something like that. He went to the line about 33 times too if I remember. ProfessorM 05-05-2008, 06:38 PM Here you go http://www.nba.com/history/wilt100_moments.html He was 36 for 63, jeez that is more attempts than most get in a few games. How he missed that many when all he did was his patented big dipper is beyond me. BigFish 05-05-2008, 06:48 PM I must be thinking of someone else scoring a bunch of points and losing....maybe it was Jordan scoring 63 I think?? ProfessorM 05-05-2008, 06:57 PM look at the stilt at 17 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9GPibuasw4 ProfessorM 05-05-2008, 07:01 PM He was good but not as good as BR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWFsL4Y8RVA pmueller 05-06-2008, 06:39 AM I just hope the officiating is balanced..Atlanta got to the line far more than the Celts did... Boy you aren't kidding. Those games in Atlanta were horrible. The Celts knew it too. They just tried to keep chopping away. EarnedStripes44 05-06-2008, 03:14 PM You guys have hit it right on the head. Give James his 40 pts., put the rest in the freezer. Ray Allen has to really step it up, its an opportunity for him to eat Sczerbiak EarnedStripes44 05-06-2008, 03:15 PM Ben Wallace is EarnedStripes44 05-06-2008, 03:24 PM the worst free throw shooter in NBA history (for players with 1000+ attempts)! bloocrab 05-06-2008, 10:22 PM I'm glad Lebron didn't show up, I'm not sure who they dressed up in his uniform, he did look alot like Lebron but definately a body double....Thank Goodness!! They needed this 1st one at home, and BOY!!...they just barely squirrelled it away. It's going to be an interesting series......Allen = 0  :thanks: Kevin!!!! BigFish 05-06-2008, 10:47 PM Allen and Pierce would have been better off in the stands selling popcorn tonight!!!:lurk: bloocrab 05-06-2008, 11:24 PM Could Pierce really have just been intimidated by James???...Gosh, I hope not. :gorez: fishbones 05-07-2008, 08:21 AM Pierce had a much better game than his stats would indicate. He (along with Perkins and Posey) did an excellent job of defending James. When he wasn't on the bench with his early foul trouble, he was all over James. I'd rather see Pierce scoring 4 points and holding James to 12 than have Pierce scoring 20 and James scoring 35. BassDawg 05-07-2008, 06:26 PM DING~DING~DING~DING!!! and we have a WINNER!!!! exactly right, fishbones. and does anyone think that Allen AND Pierce are gone keep firing blanks?? you keep Lebron to 2 FG's a game and this series will be over before it starts............. unlikely, but possible!! LOVE that DEE FENCE! Mike P 05-07-2008, 08:21 PM Here you go http://www.nba.com/history/wilt100_moments.html He was 36 for 63, jeez that is more attempts than most get in a few games. How he missed that many when all he did was his patented big dipper is beyond me. The really amazing things is that Chamberlain was a horrible foul shooter all of his life, but that night I think he was something like 28 for 32. BigFish 05-07-2008, 08:26 PM I would not bet on King James having another "%$%$%$%$ night tomorrow night! I am thinking he is gonna rip off a big game.....after all.....he is a great player and thats what they usually do after a poor playoff performance! Hold on kiddies!;) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
