Got to go out with my Dad yesterday and we toured about 75 miles yesterday, seeing the sights and fishing. Gotta use the boat while gas is still cheap and as I averaged 3.2 mpg overall for the day yesterday, we'll I'm thrilled. Not to mention the fishing was great. No other boats in sight, the birds were wheeling and doing their screams, all 50-75 of them spread out over acres of water. Here is one bass I had to get a pic of in the calm green water, just for fun, along with the metal lures I used all day with single hooks;

The birds just showed the way. Even while drifting and no birds around, just blind casting got us fish. From bluefish 2-4 lbs to bass from 18" to 34". All the bass went back as neither my dad nor I like the taste the things at all, but bluefish, marinated and fried, now we got something, but the bass are fun to catch, always fight well, like Horsepower to Torque/Bluefish to Bass. The keeper sized bass were hungry and had the lice and were still pretty fat. The bellies of the bluefish all had small menhaden or herring from 3-6" long but we're not sure what the birds were picking on all day.

I took this picture because I had cast my lure out, Deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&, stuck my rod in the rodholder, and when I picked it up, I was on;

Then just a nice shot of the bow and all the birds and splashes;

I'm so happy the season is here.
