Marcus,

Not sure on the chrome plating but I DID find a spray paint that really gives a nice shine! I found it at HD. It comes in Gold, copper & Silver. Not sure who makes it but you can't miss it by the cap. Real bright and reflective.

Just an option for ya!

Any good Body Shop in your area maybe could point you to the folks that Re-Chrome Plate bumpers. (If they still do that). We used an outfit over in Cranston (I think) Rhode Island back when.

I don't think you can chome plate lead directly. Further lead is rather soft and the chome is not. If you dent the lead the chrome will break off. I think you are better off with paint.

There are a few fishing sites that offer 2oz jars of powder paint. In general, you heat an object (like a lead jig), dip it and the paint adheres and cools. Of course, it's a little more complicated than that. They sell it in various colors - transparent and opaque - fluorescent and with sparkles. I found another company that sells larger sizes for not much more money. I ordered tons and I'll be trying it out on my jigs and metal lures ) Hope it works. I'd love some nice chrome on some of my old Hopkins tins. For fun, I'm going to try to coat an old Luxor I stripped. If anyone's interested I'll post the results in a few days.
