I may be missing something obvious but I'm looking for a way to run a report in the morning to see who shut down there PC at night.

Company is going Green (translation: what's IT going to do about it) and wants to capture where the power consumption savings may be.

Any help, as always, is very much appreciated

This might be an overly simple answer, but there are freeware programs out there that can monitor the status of PC's via a simple Ping test. It will basically poll a set list or a range of PCs at a frequency you specify and report back if the machine is "alive" or unreachable. You could then do whatever you wanted with the data, something like check which machines were alive at lunchtime or 4pm or whenever, and then check to see which machines became unreachable after 7pm, etc.

You should consider being proactive Kevin. If your company is really serious about being green, well, then reporting is not enough, go to the server CMD prompt and type: shutdown -s -t 5 -m \\computernamehere - if it is more than a couple machines, export the computernames and punch out a batch file :tooth:

(or get Altiris for all of the other lovely faetures)
