View Full Version : Lost Rod and Reel on Chappy Beach- reward
wader-dad 06-09-2008, 03:52 PM Lost a 10 foot custom 1120L Lami- and a 560 slammer. Lost Early Yesterday morning (Sunday the 7th) on the beach a stones throw from Dike Bridge. Mostly upset about the rod. If it turns up (or more likely washes up somewhere) and someone hears about it, please PM me and I will give the finder some choice plugs. Thanks. Rob

wader-dad 06-09-2008, 06:34 PM SKD- thanks for the advice. When the sun was up they had a Preserve ranger go up and down the beach trying to help out. I will contact the tackle shops. Its a long shot.
On what happened, lets just say it involved a black bomber, that had its front treble in the mouth of a bass and the back treble in my pinky. Unintended results follow.

Barbs on treble hooks are more harm than help to a plug fisherman. Hope you get your rod back.

Rick Ackley 06-10-2008, 06:45 AM Hope you get it back, and the finger heals well. Good luck.
Mr. Sandman 06-10-2008, 07:14 AM Believe it or not most rods found are returned. I found a 10weight orvis flyrod with Tibor everglades fly reel and found its owner. I wish I would have read this yesterday, I was out there last night, I would have taken a look. If I hear of it I will give you a heads up.
Also, the above advice is good, contact the shops. Further contact Nelson Seigleman at the MVTIMES at nelson@mvtimes.com and he will put a mention in the paper in the gone fishing column for you.
IMO it is better then 50/50 that you get it back. There is always the chance that a dirt-bag walks off with it but most fisherman are decent guys when it comes to returning gear I found.
Swimmer 06-10-2008, 10:30 AM Most rods, except mine.
PaulS 06-10-2008, 10:40 AM Damm, hope you get it back.
